I know some people think they are lame but just got back from the cinema seeing PA4. It shit me right up. Some great scares/jumpy bits.

I am a big wuss when it comes to jumpy films.

Great big scares at the end.

Let me know what you think if you have seen it.

I am going to try to see this next week. I did see Sinister, which I thought was a great movie.

I'll probably rent this when it comes out on dvd, as I did the others. Sinister from what I saw of the previews, does look good.

I'm a big sucker for "found footage" flicks, and I'm definitely going to see PA4 within a few days, even though I haven't watched a movie in a theater for ages, years I guess. I have SO MANY PA clones, it's ridiculous, but even the lousy ones have moments effective enough to make me afraid to go to bed! (Why do I keep watching them?) I know it sounds nuts but I'm seriously considering trying to make a PA-clone myself. I read somewhere the first one only cost 10 grand, then the first ripoff flick, Paranormal Entity (which was pretty good) only cost 6 grand. Hell, I'm a better writer than either of the guys who made those flicks, so if they can do it, why can't I?

Right now I'm watching a movie called HUSH on Chiller; it's pretty well done but--damn!--the main character's cockney accent is so annoying I don't know if I'll make it to the end!

Later!

Yes I read it did cost much to make. I heard $15,000. Then it was picked up by Paramount and the tweaked and polished it and made a shed load of ca$h. I have not really seen too many other found footage film. I saw Paranormal Entity on SyFy. And I saw tha even the Amityville franchise had jumped on the band wagon with Amityville Haunting. Now that had some great scenes i thought but was just acted so badly.

Hope you get to the cinema to see PA4 Mr Lee, and do tell what you think.

I liked PA4, but thought it was the least of the series. I appreciated that they tried to do something a bit different, but the horror wasn't really as effective. And the story doesn't make any sense this time at all if you think about it for more than 2 seconds. The ending was pretty cool ... I just wish they'd stop leaving so many unanswered questions.

I like found footage movies. Grave Encounters was good! I still haven't seen Paranormal Entity. Check out the Japanese found footage movie Curse (Noroi, I think). It's an interesting take on the concept.

I went to the theater last week and saw PA4 and thought it was very good, and i\some of its imagery screwed with my night's sleep! Then today I saw Silent Hill 3D and, I hate to say it but the story struck me as meandering and slapdash; hence I was so bored that I didn't even care what happened in the end and left during the last few minutes in which I'm SURE something horrifying happened which will lead to another sequel. The 3D stuff, however, was outstanding, so I can recommend it because of that element alone. (It's the first modern day 3D movie I've seen. The last one, I think, was Friday the 13th part 3 which i saw in the theater in the early 80s!) Oh, and I did see Grave Encounters and dug it a lot, while I didn't like part 2. Didn't get into Chernobyl Diaries (all the "found footage" gimicks flopped) and (I think I mentioned this previously) American Horror House was a clunker except for the bikini scene. HOWEVER, I watched Prometheus on pay per view a few nights ago and it was fantastic.) I'm sure I mentioned this as well, in December there will be a DVD release of a found footage flick called V/H/S and it is, in my opinion, the best found footage flick of them all and probably the most entertaining horror movie I've seen in years or maybe decades. It simply was right up my alley, and I was PISSED I didn't think of it. I should get off my ass and find some way to pitch a sequel to the producer cuz I've got a doozy!

Halloween's coming! I hope you all have a great one!

Hi Lee glad you liked PA4, did you stay till the end of the credits?

I didnt and I heard that there is a little scene poss setting up a storyline for PA5.

I felt the same about the first Silent Hill film, spectacularly average and didn't care by 3/4 of the way through.

I watched a few trailers for V/H/S it does look good.

Happy early halloween to you all.

I loved Grave Encounters and VHS also. Definitely recommend. And yes, PLEASE make a horror film!! I cannot imagine how awesome the reality of that would be! After all, you have first hand experience with stomach rumbling ghosts!!

It's ridiculous, but I'm becoming obsessed with this movie idea of mine; my note file is getting huge and I'm searching a plethora of websites for body part props and fleshtone latex! I priced a dummy gibbet and looked around in Home Depot today to see what the cheapest materials would be to build a "trick" table. I've got a funny feeling I might actually make this movie!

I just finished watching Paranormal Activity 3 again, and as usual I'm so unnerved I'm afraid to go to bed! Happy Halloween, everyone!

The new Silent Hill movie is by far the worst movie I've seen this year. I despised it. Utterly. It was a direct-to-video quality movie that somehow conned its way into a theatrical release. Non-stop weak jump scares (oh my gosh, the pink stuffed rabbit TURNED ITS HEAD) and non stop exposition and the worst dialogue I've heard in a movie in a long time.

Yes, I did enjoy V/H/S and will probably buy the BluRay when it comes out here soon! I didn't care so much for the first story, but the pay-off was pretty good. I liked all the others.

Chernobyl Diaries didn't do it for me, either. Really cool concept but didn't do much with it.

I watched Prometheus the other night to try out the 3-D TV I bought awhile back, and it looked really good! The deleted scenes are cool to see, too, where the Engineer talks and there's an explanation for how Idris Elba could have suspected what happened on the planet.

I'm also pissed by all the found footage concepts that I wish I'd thought of -- V/H/S/, Cloverfield, Chronicle, and the upcoming time travel found footage thing I heard about. Better hurry while there are still some ideas left, haha.

Oh, the post credit sequence doesn't set up the 5th movie. It's for some kind of spin-off. It was in Spanish (not subtitled) and nothing really happened.

Damn, I didn't stay for the end credits! You'd think I'd be smart enough by now to know better than this! And speaking of V/H/S I just saw a Fango link mentioning that Part 2 is underway. I don't know why I'm so enthralled by this flick but I think by know I've rented it 7 or 8 times on pay per view (at 6.99 a pop!) I can't wait till the DVD is released--I'll save tons of money by owning it!

My own movie concept is jelling to an infectious degree. Influenced by VHS and other found-footage flicks? Most definitely. But unique enough not to be seen as a total ripoff? I'm certain! I really think I'm gonna do this.

Take care!

Awesome, man! Definitely go for it.

I heard about the V/H/S sequel too. It sounds really interesting. The directors this time are mentioned on this article: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=96570

These days, a lot of movies seem to have something after the credits. I didn't expect anything after a PA movie but I hung around anyway. Like I said, though, it would mostly just leave you scratching your head. It'll wait for you on DVD, ha.

Yeah, the last part was nothing much, so no big deal if you missed it. It was a decent movie, but I still think Sinister was better.
