Sorry it's taken me so long to check in. Last Friday was my 55th birthday. What a kick in the ass, until I realized that most days I feel about 35! Best birthday present I ever got was going out to lunch with a dear friend who's been going through some aggressive rounds of chemotherapy, yet he looked, felt, and sounded terrific. I'm in FL for the rest of this week, nailing down the nursing home here for my mother, then it's back to MD to hire the transport company, get her down here, and finish getting her house ready to sell. For such a grim situation I can say that things are going very well. Also, on a weirder note (did I mention this before?) I'm hearing some VERY ODD sounds at night at my mother's house. There have always been rapid-footsteps-like sounds in the room above the kitchen. Can't tell you how many times I've been washing dishes, heard the footsteps, then dashed upstairs only to find a laughably empty room. Of course, I'm sure they're just house noises (but I gotta wonder because when my mother's dementia was worsening she insisted that "Little boys" were living upstairs!) Anyway, There have been a number of occasions when I've been lying in bed in the room in which I grew up, and in the middle of the night I hear the sound of someone's stomach rumbling and then a brief sharp sign coming from the closet just feet from where I sleep. Kind of...creepy. I hope all is well with all of you, and thanks again so much for your support. Perhaps tonight we can all raise a glass to all who have died serving our countries. Happy belated B-day ED!!! Remember-You're only as old as you feel. I grew up in a haunted trailer, where you would hear things and see things that had no reasonable explanation. So, I can relate about your recent haunted happenings. |

Happy Belated B-day, Lee...and glad to hear the situation with getting your Mom moved to Fla (and house sold etc) seems to be progressing well...and man, that stuff about noises in your old house has just GOT to someday make it into a story...I actually got goosebumps reading it and funny (thanks for replying to my thread about GM) because in the Masterton novel I'm reading, something similar to that happens in the story, as well...maybe truth isn't stranger than fiction, huh? Yeah Happy Birthday Ed!!!... You know what would be cool, if you wrote a story about YOU!!! About Edward lee, the indesputable master of the EXTREME!!! You could make yourself the main character and put your self through absolute hell. Though I empathize with your current situation, it is an extremely pliable story line. My heart is sufficiently tickled pink by all your birthday wishes; thanks very much. The haunted trailer? Hmm. Is it for sale? I'm heading back to MD tomorrow and am part excited and part uncomfortable about the prospect of the closet noises recurring. Wait, maybe I'll try an "EVP!" As for a story about me personally, I'm happy to say that I do have another more complex experience that occurred in my old apartment on St Pete Beach many years ago. (It was either a ghost or an impressive hallucination!) I wrote it all down in my notes and will one day write it. It'll be called--how original!--The Ghost! Later! Edward Lee |
