Are there any dutch/belgium/german fans around here of Edward Lee.
A lot of bookshops i visit have never heard of Edward.
They say they have horrorbooks, but only of stephen king, dean koontz, and maybe if you are lucky a novel of clive barker.

Books from edward, wrath james white, robert devareaux, you see seldom in bookshops, not even in second hand bookshops.

Is this the same in Belgium and maybe USA or England.
Are Ed's books easy found at wallmarts, waterstones ?

I live in the area of AMsterdam.

Would be nice if dutch fans, would urge bookshops to sell more extreme horrornovels, or translate them in dutch, how nice would that be.

My feeling is that the majority of this forum comes from the USA or ENgland.
Am I correct.

By the way : this forum is nr. 1 on my favorite list. :v

No sadly over here in the UK Edward Lee is hard to come by. Never seen any of his work in a store.

I get all mine thanks to Amazon, Jizzlefinger and Ebay in general.

Sadly, even in the US, his books are hard to find. And absolutely Walmart would NEVER sell his books....they don't even sell uncensored music!! While his mass market paperbacks used to be at Barnes & Noble, etc, but since the Leisure fall out, they are no longer in stock. We have to use the internet, too!

Regrettably, with Leisure out of business, I have no national distribution anymore; hence, almost nothing in big bookstores. I've heard there are independent stores that order some of my hardcore stuff but not many. Gone are the days when my mass market pbs would be available in most B&N's. Kindle, on the other hand, makes everything available, so this is good. This past year it seems I've been making more money from that, along with the Deadite tpbs, than anything. I never saw one of my books in a WalMart, but I did get distribution in some grocery stores. Now the space is all used for teen vampire stuff.

As for foreign availablility, I'm starting to appear in Poland and reappear in Germany, which thrills me. I'd LOVE to sell dutch rights to some of my books. Hopefully, as more of my books come out in Poland and Germany, my name will get bounced around the European publishers. Hell, if they know what good for them, they'll ALL buy my books!

And, dgl, you live in Amsterdam? Wow! I've always wanted to go there for the art galleries and fresh Heineken on tap, which I hear is outstanding!

Amsterdam is a beautiful city.
We have some very pretty ladies over there.
They all shine a red light :) lol

The only known publisher of horrorbooks in the Netherlands is Luitingh Sijthoff.
They publish the books of Stephen King, Christopher Fowler, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz.
I think if there is a change, it will be with them.

Maybe it's worth a try.
April 30th is the most busy day of the year.
It's then Queensday : we celibrate the birthday of our former Queen.
Everyone sells their goods on the streets, books, dvd's, puppets etc.

If you ever want to come to Amsterdam, do it by then.
Hope you will ever visit Amsterdam, let me know, i can show you around the town.

Lee, you mentioned Kindle exclusively a few times, just to make a slight correction, ALL of your ebooks are available on bn.com for NOOK, as well. I have one, so I know this, but I still get all of your stuff in book form.

Actually, it was at a Wal-Mart that I had discovered Lee a few years back. I was looking at the books, and I saw this cover for a book called City Infernal. The cover reminded me of Hellraiser. So, I picked up the book and read the back part. It sounded really good, so I said to my girlfriend at the time "What do you think of this? She said she saw it and read the back, and it looked pretty good. So, it came home with us. The book was read with 2 days for me. I loved it. I also let a co-worker read it.
About 3 years after that, I had looked online and saw that there was a sequel to it, with a 3rd being written. Then, I found out about Lee's other books. I hunted the ones down that I could find, and here we are years later, still a fan.

Also, when Leisure was going out with the Mass markets, I saw some Leisure books at places like Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and even Wal-mart had a discount bin with Leisures in them. I have to say, those sections are pretty boring now. LOL.
