For some reason I feel the need to expound about this ridiculous movie I watched on Chiller last night. It's like, well, Texas Chainsaw Massacre but with a dude in a bunny outfit instead of Leatherface. Now, when I say "ridiculous" I mean that in a good way. I found myself thoroughly entertained, and I suppose it was very well done for the restricted resources and low budget. Several of the girls in it are almost as effective as some of the best in the business at screaming. But I admired the acting talent most when the actors managed to look terrified while being chased by, well, a dude in a bunny suit! There's one scene where an overly mouthy blonde is getting tortured by Bunnyman and at the same time the accommodating musical score is the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony, which happens to be one of my very favorite musical works of all time. Somehow I know that whenever I hear the piece in the future, the image of Bunnyman will hop into my head.

Checkit out if you've got nothing better to do!
Best,
Edward Lee

I think I read about this in Fango. Sounds fun and surprisingly original. Now I have to find it! Thanks for the tip and hope you are doing well.

Lol sounds pretty interesting. I might have to check it out as well. It also reminded me that I am considering getting a hold of a copy of The Lobsterman from Mars. I seen it about 20 years ago and i'm sure it's as "good" as I remember.

I ordered this on dvd. Turns out it's based on a true story? Anyway, I'll let you know my thoughts after I watch it.

I think the Bunnyman is one of those urban legends. When I was in jr. high, there was talk of a "bunnyman" in the Wheaton area of Maryland: a guy in a bunny suit with an ax. It was actually true in that a nut job dressed up in the suit and put an ax through several windshields at Wheaton Plaza. No one got hurt, but it was in the newspapers--hence, the "true" story! But then I read somewhere that there have been bunnymen in other places. What next? Hamsterman? Guineapigman?

So I bought the dvd of this and watched it. I have to say for a low budget horror movie, it was done quite well. The person under the costume did a great job with expressing himself underneath. For example, there is a scene where a girl is getting tortured by him, and he stops while she's screaming, and he looks at the camera, and does a quick chuckle. Now, even though it's just a mask, you can tell he's laughing. Just little things like that. I never thought I'd say this, but they made a bunny outfit menacing. I can see this turning into a series (Bunnyman 1,2,3,etc.). Definitely worth a view. It's better than some of the crap I've been getting out of the Redbox lately.

LONG LIVE THE BUNNYMAN!!!!

Oh, and there is another movie with the same idea called "The Bunnyman Massacre". However, I've only seen copies of it listed in Pal, and not NTSC. If I could find a copy in ntsc, I'd check it out and see how it compares to the other.
