I, for one, didn't point that out because I've not been able to read any Headers yet. I only have the movie. I'm patiently waiting for Deadite to grant alll my Header wishes (by that, I don't mean I want them to drill a hole in my skull and fuck my brains into a soupy mush).
I've seen a poor quality screener stream and I have the official uncut. Haven't done a direct comparison yet. If Mr Lee would like the official uncut version, I will happily make that happen for him
ps: CR666 "Spoiler alerts" are quite nice when giving away plot elements to those not 'in the know'

Squeaky....I never read the first Header, only saw the movie, but I did read Header 2. I think the movie is super close to the book, so I bought H2. My only book on Kindle so far!! haha....I really did enjoy Header 2, but I am "unpatiently" waiting for the first one, too!
PS....I did buy the uncut version of Serbian last night!
If I had any balls, I'd try to contact the producers and offer to write a novelization in English. But...alas, in this case I surely DON'T have the balls! Later!

I recently saw another awesome extreme horror film that all fans of A Serbian Film should seek out - The Human Centipede 2. I thought the first was a fun B-Horror film but not hardcore enough for my taste. The sequel did not let me down! Wow, that was crazy extreme. It shows EVERYTHING that the first film only hinted at.

Yeah. It was a lot of fun. It seemed like Tom Six was giving the finger to everyone who dared to say HC1 wasn't extreme enough I heard that the US release did have some cuts made (not sure where because there was a LOT of grossness in there) and the Australian release did not. Hoping the guy I scored my Serbian from will get the full movie so I can enjoy even more depravity

Ed, with the stuff you write I can't imagine you being nervous to watch anything short of maybe an actual snuff film lol. I finally watched The Human Centipede the other day, though, and am anxiously awaiting the sequal to come out on dvd.

Just bear in mind while watching that every single release of HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2 so far has been cut and censored in some way or other, including the US VOD release!
Personally, despite having liked the first film (being familiar with the Japanese ero-guro genre, the body-modification concept struck me as far less original than most, however), I was instantly put off by hearing Tom Six went all meta with his follow-up. A good friend of mine reviewed the film and came to the conclusion that Six is basically trolling everbody, fans and detractors of the original alike. And so far I haven't felt the need to feed this particular troll.
lthrby1 You asked where you can find serbian film uncut. In holland you can get it completely uncut. It's distributed by belgium publishers. If you want, let me know, than i can buy it for you on bluray or dvd. I have a paypal account. you can pm me
Dutchgorelover: wow, I shudder to think what an UNCUT Serbian Film would be like. What more could they show?! It was an interesting flick, for sure, but they should've let me polish the script and the end wouldn't have been as predictable! Wetbones: I got a kick out of both HC's but didn't care for the seeming creative motivations behind the second one. However, the fat guy REALLY creeps me out! I hate to think what Part 3 will involve.
wetbones, you're right, has only dutch subs. i think holland is the only country that has the movie fully uncut. it's grusome, and sometimes hard to watch.
ed lee.
hope someday more books will be transfered into movies. i think it's very strange that, except for header, none of your books have made it in the cinema's.
would love to see Messenger, the coven and going monsterum into a movie .

Good news for all those who want to own the fully uncut version with English subtitles! It would seem that the American distributor of the film, Invincible Pictures, finally grew a set of balls and will release the complete version on April 16th. The only downsides are that it will be exclusively available through their website and that it seems to be only available on DVD.
Here's some more info as well as a look at the cover artwork:
I loved A Serbian Film, though I'm not sure which version I watched. I am searching for an uncut bluray copy, though I may have to settle for DVD. I am looking forward to seeing The Life and Death of a Porno Gang, another film made in Serbia. A quote in the ad (anonymous, for what it's worth) says that it is "More powerful than A Serbian Film."

Serbian film, love it, but some of my friends are disgusted. when i explain the books of Ed are even more grusome, they don't understand i read it. hey , i am a gorehound. would be perfect if there would be a sequel or a prequel.
I have to say I wasn't a very big fan of this movie. I thought it was really good for the first 40 mins or so, but once it started going for the shock sceens, I couldn't take it seriously. The first 1/3 or so of the film implied it was supposed to be very serious and dark, and then it just turns into something almost cartoonish. Perhaps that's what they were trying to achieve, but after setting it up one way for so long, it was a let-down to me.
I still go with Martyrs as the best shocking horror movie of the last 10 years (or more).

Gotta say I'm vehemently against a sequel or a prequel. (The same goes for THE LOVED ONES, for which there was prequel talk a while ago.) Sequels can work really well, if done right, and one need look no further than THE HOUSE or HEADER 2 for that, but I can't remember when I last liked a movie sequel... BLADE 2, maybe?
There were a few parts in SERBIAN FILM that made me chuckle. I actually don't really care if that was intended or not. I didn't laugh at the ending, so I still took the film quite seriously.
Speaking of that ending, has anybody here seen the recent British film KILL LIST? I thought there were quite a few similarities there. I like to refer to it as A SERBIAN WICKER MAN and the less you know going in, the better.
I'm not familiar with Kill List but your description--Wicker meets Serbian--sounds pretty cool. I'll order that when I'm back from MD.
As for Serbian Film, I very much appreciate its features and what I presume were some of its intentions, but--damn--the ending would've worked MUCH BETTER if they'd let me tweak the script! (How's that for arrogance?)
Yeah, I enjoyed Kill List, too, and it does have echoes of Serbian Film and The Wicker Man. If I had a complaint it's that it was too vague and asks you to fill in too many blanks on your own without enough info, but overall, definitely worth checking out.
Kill List was really good! Not as good as Serbian, but it still is really disturbing. Just watched Snowtown last night...it was good, but I really thought it would be better. Any other movies like this?
I dragged a few friends to see Serbian Film a couple years ago at a film festival and they STILL haven't forgiven me...nor have any of us forgotten that flick. Damn solid, original, and balls out movie. On a personal note, we are hoping to show the Bighead at that same festival (in SF) next year...and would be so damn honored to do so!!
I caught Kill List last year (at the same fest) and loved that movie, too!!
Looking forward to seeing what else y'all are digging out there!!
