Hey Ed, been writing a Sleep Disorder (only structure wise) type book with my best friend (the reptilians) and while I was writing last night I threw a door knocker into my story as an homage to you and your great work. Hope you don't mind. Anyways, wanted to make sure I got it right, so today I was googling and found a really old thread (DEC '07) called the door knocker. I had forgotten that several people wanted you to continue on with The Beast House series. Do Ann & Kelley own the rights? I'd bet my left nut they would give you their blessing if they did (I've read Keene's Sympathy For the Devil so I know Ann adores you). I hate to bring this up when your plate is so full, but damn it would kick ass if you continued the series. Look how great Keene did capturing Laymon in Castaways. Okay, enough of my wish list. Seriously, I need to congratulate you on a great book! I LOVED The Golem. Way better than Brides if you ask me. I loved how you smoothly shifted between different eras in time and kept the story flowing briskly. Plus, I got to see shades of Jerrica! The Golem had all my favorite elements of your books, with the backstory making it completely a book of it's own. Keep up the great work! P.S. I wish Infernally Yours would finally ship. Wife pre-ordered back in December for my X-Mas!
By all means! You--and any writer--has my full permission to use my door knocker in your work! (Regrettably, I don't think I'll be able to put the knocker in HEADER 2 simply because it would be too forced and awkward. It is in INFERNALLY YOURS, however. As for me continuing Dick Laymon's stuff--I loved the man like a brother but would feel unqualified and weird about continuing anything if given permission to do so. Dick helped me in innumerable ways! Thanks for the kind words on GOLEM!
