Wetbones: you're definitely right about the "we'll see"; anything can happen in this business and more times than not it takes LONGER to happen. I just want that movie out so bad 'cos it's really cool. I remember doing the commentary about a year and a half ago--the producer flew me up to JErsey to do it at him house. But now that you mention it, we all did interviews on location when the filming was going on. It turned out to be a lot of fun but I got no idea how much they'll use. Right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good cover. Take care and be well!

PS-I know you're a Lovecraft fan so I'll mention that I recently re-read Derleth's LURKER AT THE THRESHOLD and enjoyed the hell out of it (save for the dud ending). I remember reading somewhere that Derleth wrote it based on 200 words of note HPL left, plus some correspondence they'd had. Check it out if you haven't already. (Also re-read CDW.. Glorious!)

The important part is that they have penicilled in a release in late summer, early fall 2009.

By the way, Ed, do you have any updates on that BIGHEAD movie? Or are they waiting to see how HEADER does on DVD first?

I heard from the guy who optioned it a few months ago and he said they'll stll confident they can get financing; however, in this business (and especially now in this economy) I'm, again, in the wait-and-see mode. I have seen the screenplay, though (and got to tweak it a bit myself) and it's a surprisingly faithful job. Now I'll I need to do is whip out my copy of the Necronomicon and find the write spell to make studio dump money into it.

I didn't know about the Fall 2009 release. Shit. I was hoping it'd be out before some of the conventions. These things happen. I had lunch with the producer of Header at Baltimore airport last Saturday and he showed me what may well be the cover. I'm very happy with it. Ultimately, I think I can safely say that the DVD will be worth the wait 'cos it really is a well-done movie that was brow-raisingly faithful to my novella.

Great question and, yes, there will probably be a re-release of the print version of the story, including a note by me, plus the screenplay. Don't know when, who, or whether it will be hardcover or pb. But there's a very good chance it'll happen, and it may even have a photoplate section with pix of the set.

I was excited for this to come out just because it was from Lee. But last week my copy of Sex, Drugs, and Power Tools came in and I finally got to read the story for the first time. Now that really changed how excited I am to see it. Hot damn, the story was great! I'm really looking forward to how it all translates onto film. And then a sequel (in the future) to top it off? That just makes me giddy!
