Hello to all Edward Lee fans worldwide. I just recently discovered his work, of all places, the libarary. I just wanted to drop this note to say that Edward Lee is amazing. I have been hungering for the extreme horror that he delivers! Whereas I don't have the luxury of being able to purchase some of his work, I shall strive to, at the very least, read whatever I can get my grubby hands on. With that said, I felt that I should express my pleasure of his discovery. Thank you, Mr. Lee. I am now in your forever debt. Do not stop creating these horrific landscapes. Again, I thank you!

Wow the library! LOL. I wish our local library had the balls to stock Ed Lee books. It really is a shame that more people haven't had the pleasure of getting sucked into one of Lee's books only to be left wanting more and more. I have always been a fan of horror novels and was always happy to read Bentley Little and Richard Laymon, etc (which I am still a huge fan of both), but it was always a little bit too tame for my taste. But when I read my first Ed Lee book I was blown away, I was instantly hooked and I wanted to get my hands on everything this man had ever written. I have yet to be disappointed by his writing and I look forward to reading more.
I would imagine that your library probably has his more tame work ( I can't imagine them having The Bighead). But if you haven't already read his small press books and novellas I would definitely recommend doing so. I know some of his earlier work is costly, but it is worth the money. E-Bay usually has a good selection and you can usually get them for a fair price. I would recommend The Bighead, GAST, Creekers, EVER NAT, The Pig, The House, Goon, Family Traditions, I could go on forever but you get the idea. It's nice to see that someone else has discovered the sick, twisted world of Edward Lee. What books of Lee's have you read so far?
Could Your library have it order from another....my library as well, has his books.
I honestly think that if more people knew about Mr. Lee's books the world would be a better place Maybe fan's such as ourselves should just get the word out. Maybe try and get every library to have his works in stalk. What do you think?

The books I've read, so far, are, The Backwoods, Flesh Gothic, Messenger, Slither, Monstrosity, City Infernal, Infernal Angel. My local libary has House Infernal on reserve for me (can't wait to take a bite out of that one!). I also have read some of the short fiction collected in the Hot Blood series. I'm also a fan of Jack Ketchum and the Late Richard Laymon (R.I.P.). When I first read The Backwoods, I thought, Who is this guy and why haven't I found this shit sooner. Needless to say, I am saving all my hard earned coin so I can get some of his other work. As for the Infernal series, I think that would be a fantasic film option (can anyone say video game tie-in).

My local library sucks! The librarians here would make terrific characters in one of Lee's books. I will ask them if they can get some of his books and stock them. I don't see why they couldn't carry his Leisure books. A lot of hardcore horror fans are missing out on a great writer by not reading his works. I have told all of my friends and family about Ed and told them to check him out. Since reading Lee's hardcore small press books, I have checked out other hardcore writers, but Lee will always be my all time favorite! I count myself lucky to have discovered the fucked up world of Edward Lee.
As the "horror collector" in my (academic) library, we now have about 25 Laymon novels, and a bunch of Ed Lee, including The Bighead.
Of course, we also have Ketchum, Wrath James White, JF Gonzalez, and so on.
Lee,
I often think about putting The Bighead in the "Banned Books" display, but then I think "what they don't know won't hurt them". Even anti-banning librarians might have a different reaction if they read about "cheese" in Bighead.
It's awesome that you've checked out Lee's mass-market works. They're fantastic for sure, but you are at a perfect spot to start getting into the smaller press stuff. I agree with rascal king, The House is a great place to start. Then try other Necro books, and I know you won't be disappointed. Then you can get to the point where you start looking for chapbooks...
There's a whole WORLD of Lee that goes well beyond mass-market offerings! Look forward to discovering it!

I would like to thank everyone for all the heartfelt advice and title selections. I will strive to aquire said titles. But formost, I am so honored that Mr. Lee responded to my post personally. As far as the morleyisozzy moniker is concerned, I created that as an homage to The
X-Files and the Prince Of Fucking Darkness himself, OZZY. Morleys was the brand of cigarettes the smoking man puffed on in the series and, well, OZZY is OZZY after all. Now I can hold my head high, for after people read this new addition to the Infernal Series, I can add a new homage to my moniker. Edward Lee, If you keep writing, I swear that I'll keep reading.
