Dear folks; thanks for your continued support on the board and in the bookstore. Such wonderful supporters as yourselves are what make it such a joy and privilege to write. Yes, I've been busy as hell the couple months after turning in the ms for HOUSE INFERNAL (pb release date is, I think, Sept 07; CD hardcover should be spring 07 or early summer, I'm guessing.) Still not sure on the pub date of Gast but it shouldn't be too long. What I've ben working on since finishing HOUSE is a hardcore novel called MINOTAURESS, which is a companion piece to HORN-CRANKER. I thought it was going to be a novella but, as often happens, the story starts taking command of itself, and now it's looking like it'll be a 75000 word novel. It's very hardcore, with a lot of grim humor, and not only does it involve an element from HORN-CRANKER, it has a roundhouse of familiar characters: Dicky and Balls from BIGHEAD, the "Writer" from "The Seeker" and "The Angel," plus cameos from Stu Cummings and Grandpap from HEADER, and PAppy Halm from BACKWOODS. It really is a ton of fun and I have to admit some of the hardcore chicanery makes me...sitkc to my stomach. Every day writing it is a new grotesque adventure, and I think you'll all get a kick out of it when I do manage to finish it. (It will be published down the road by Necro along with a reprint of HORN CRANKER. In late January I start my next mass-market novel for Leisure which has the working title THE ORDER OF THE SCARLET NUNS, though I doubt that will be the published title. The book will be a challenge for me 'cos it's set in NYC and I rarely set books in big cities. From a personal standpoint, it's my creative homage to Jean Rollin, Jess Franco, Paul Naschy, and Amano de Ossorio, my fave directors. The stroyline won't be similar to any of them but I will try to convey mood via print imagery the way these directors did visually. I'm really gunned up about it. Maybe I'm being naive but I often think the older I get the more creatively enthused I become!

SOunds like you're cooking up some great treats for us, I loved Horncranker, so MINOTAURESS sounds great...and as for THE ORDER OF THE SCARLET NUNS well, the title alone conjures up some fine images, I look forward to that one for sure.

MINOTAURESS has to be one of the greatest titles of all time. I dug HORN-CRANKER except for how you repeated the phrase "her big breasts jggling under the sheer nightgown" (or something along those lines) a hundred times. I know it was intended as a joke but it didn't amuse me.

Wetbones: Don't worry, there aren't any repeated big breasts jiggling in this one but there's some...pretty cool stuff, to the point that I'm feeling ashamed of myself for writing it. And the Mr. Torso cameo is a lot of fun. As for Rollin, I just re-watched Demoniacs; I love it's convolutedness (well, and the nudity, too.) Rollin's meticulous use of imagery is what fascinates me. I need to do that with words. Recently I also tweaked my outline for my HPL book and I just get more and more geared up for it. Probably won't get to write it for another year or so 'cos I've got all these other projects to tend to first.
