Folks, I got back from Poland 2 nights ago--the trip was fantastic and productive. I got a number of scenes shot for my movies, including footage inside a 150 year old abandoned brewery that's about the creepiest place I've ever seen. When we first went there, we kept getting grim stares from the staff (it's being turned into an art gallery) and one guy went ballistic when we entered a particular buidling. Couldn't help but think there was something in there they didn't want us to see. By the end of it, I was half expecting the trip to end like Hostel. And I got some great scream footage, shot a WONDERFUL vomiting scene thanks to a pair of very generous women, and even shot a scene that involved a raw turkey neck. At any rate I've got some interesting things cooking on the movie front. But now I'm back, running my old butt off and packing for Denver, where i'll be going tomorrow for a few days to seeing an elderly relative. Got a shoot lined up with a nude model on Sept 14th which should be great (and requiring LOTS of fake blood). Ah, and recently I've watched Won Ton Baby starring Suzi Lorraine and Debbie Rochon, which was hilarious; Haunting of Pearson Place (also starring Suzi Lorraine, who played a perfectly evil ghost) which was very well done and densely atmospheric, plus it has some welcome new twists); the latest Star Trek movie, which was GREAT and had one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen in a movie; Oblivion, overly convoluted plot that didn't work at all but had tremendous acting and outstanding CGI; and a Will Smith movie called, I think, After Earth, which had curious conceptual similarities to Oblivion, but was a great sci fi version of To Build A Fire and had an impressive monster in it. Hope to--FINALLY--watch Lords of Salem tonight. Everybody please take care and be well!
