Reading this amazing book for the second time, and it has an equal, if not a more emotional impact. If you have not read this book, I highly recommend it. We all know the quality of Gary's writing, and in this book he allows the reader inside of his head, and is so informative - and very sad (not surprising) - and he doesn't shy away from naming names in the field that I find fascinating. His Cedar Hill story collections are my most treasured possessions, but this book is right behind them. Bob
I just looked it up. Wow! I can't believe I never heard of this book. It's going into my October purchases (September has tapped me out). This looks so good. Thanks again for the suggestion!
Ttzuma, my pleasure! I am so happy you will be able to read it! I wish I could explain more in detail what 'type' of book it is. I would say it is an autobiography, but it is so much more than that. It I had to compare, I would say it is along the lines of King's 'On Writing'. But Gary throws everything into the grinder. I just finished it, and it ends with an emotional whallop. Enjoy it. Bob
