I don't know who your influences are, but of the authors I read, I put you in a league with Richard Laymon, Ray Garton, and a dash of J.F. Gonzalez! I'm on the hunt for your other two books now!!! Finished! I'll get a full review on LibraryThing this week. For now, just know that it was one of the best horror novels I've read in a long time. And if you compare it to other small press writers, it's right up there with all the greats! Awesome characters (and characterization), fast-paced storyline, lots of gruesomeness, and a satisfying finale that kept me guessing!!!! I hope you continue to get published and work your way up to mainstream stuff. This would SO easily fit into the Leisure Horror line of books. I hope you're on their radar. Thanks again and I look forward to reading your short stories and somehow finding your other novel--there's just one other, right?

I see the Kult contest and I'll try and give it a go! I went to Links and there was Michael Arnzen. He's a personal favorite of mine. I will want Deadfall when it comes out. At some point, I may hound you for some inscriptions. I've been know to send books all over the globe. It's a "thing" of mine.

From the Leucrota Press blog: "Gharial Productions has just optioned movie rights to Shaun Jeffrey's The Kult. The screenplay, adapted from the novel by Danielle Kaheaku and Robert Hunter, went into negotiations in the middle of November with Gharial Productions and has finally come out with a solid contract offer and acceptance by Leucrota Press. Gharial Productions is an emerging movie and film production company based in San Diego, California, and is currently working on pre-production arrangements for the filming of the movie, tentatively scheduled to begin June 2010." *** Anyone who has had a book optioned knows that it's far from actually being filmed, but it's still a nice early Christmas present. |
