Hang tough, bud. I'm really sorry to hear about this and am sending all my best wishes your way. I know there has been a lot of problems in the past, but nothing can ever prepare for that sort of news.

We'll talk in the near future. Remember, anything that can be done from afar, will be. You've just gotta ask.

Update:
Well it's been up and down for the last few days, but we're being told by the hospital that there's nothing more they can do so they are sending him home soon. It comes as just a shock to my whole family because he's not ready to be coming home, but at this point there's nothing we can do. My Dad needs antiobotics by IV three times a day so we're getting a Home Health nurse type thing to come and do that and all we can do is hope he keeps on fighting.

It's an uphill battle, but my Mom wants no part of the temporary nursing home idea they tried to float so my family will all step up and do whatever we can to help.

I don't know what's going to happen in the next few days or even weeks, but I wanted to once again thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, emails, posts, and phone calls. It's been more than I could have ever hoped for and I consider each and every one of you a part of the Koish family. And so do my parents.

Thanks everyone and feel free to keep thinking a good thought for my pa from time to time. We're going to need it to keep on fighting this MRSA thing.

Update since it's been a bit now:

He's doing about the same now at home. Some good days and some bad days. Blood culture showed MRSA gone from his blood so if he gets two more tests back like that in the next two weeks we might get him off the heavy IV antiobotics three times a day he takes right now. Regardless we still have two months of it at the minimum. But we are all keeping our heads up. My mom is awesome though I can't believe how lucky we are to have her in our lives. She's taken over doing the IV stuff three times a day (not by choice you have to love Medicare and Medicaid) but she's doing it really good right now at least and a nurse comes once a week to check on him. My mom said she's going to go to nursing school when Dad gets better and become the world's oldest nurse.

I wanted to say thanks again everyone. He's still with us and we're taking it one day at a time right now.

I'll pop back on the thread here and there for anyway that cares to keep an eye on how my pop is doing.
