On a considerably milder note, my fragile, over-inflated ego is getting a real pounding over at the Cafe Doom short story contest. Although I must say it's an entirely better experience than 'the other one'. Anonymous entries, you can't vote unless you've entered, and folk are taking it seriously and giving out some decent feedback. If you've the time and the tough hide, I recommend this one.
Although I see someone has recently waded in and given half the field a blanket scolding over their grammer, while using the word cus (instead of because) as part of their mini tirade. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume irony.
