Why I love Obama. He says things like this: At a press conference Tuesday, the president excoriated the “bluster” and “big talk” in this political season about bombing Iran. “When I see the casualness with which some of these folks talk about war, I’m reminded of the costs involved in war,” he said, adding: “This is not a game. And there’s nothing casual about it.” There would be consequences for both Israel and America, he cautioned, “if action is taken prematurely.”
“When I visit Walter Reed, when I’ve signed letters to families,” he said, “whose loved ones have not come home, I am reminded that there is a cost.”
And, he noted dryly, “Typically, it’s not the folks who are popping off who pay the price.”

And I know some of you who read the review will be wondering (because I didn't comment on it) if there were any sex scenes in the book. And if there were sex scenes, if they were graphic. And if there were sex scenes and they were graphic, how did I react while reading them.
Ohhh, I have a Hal Bodner book on my tbr pile, not this one, tho'. I should endeavor to dig it out.
Also, tentacles crossed, I might have solved my Kindle problem, providing Amazon doesn't charge me for the replacement. (I mean, they shouldn't, but things being what they are...)
(There might be a horror story somewhere in there)

We have a know-it-all douche at work and he said something that caused the store manager to rant in our morning huddle about the employees not taking care of the equipment in the store (ladders, lifts, etc.). The know-it-all and I argued about it in the break room, with me actually agreeing with the manager (for once), and when we stopped, you'd have thought I'd kicked this guy's puppy judging by the look on his face.
I went to J.C. Penny today to buy my wife what she calls a top (I call it a shirt) for her birthday. She said she likes brightly colored tops and I have no idea where to get them so I went to J.C. Penny. I've been fond of that store ever since a young girl lifted up her dress in front of me when I was there a few years ago (yep, all the way up to her head!) Anyway, I've told that story before and I have another one now, but it doesn't involve young girls showing me their bodies in a clothing store.
I found a brightly colored top for my wife but I had no idea if it was the right size or if she would have to wear something underneath it. I walked around for about 10 minutes holding the damn thing trying to figure out what to do when I noticed a petit woman hanging around the women's clothing section the entire time I was there. (No, I didn't think it was strange). Anyway, she saw I was in distress so I walked up to her and asked her if the shirt was appropriate for a women my wife's age (yes), did she need to wear another shirt underneath it (no), and that if my wife is a size 10 would this shirt fit her (yes). She was very nice to me and I was kinda hoping she'd lift her dress up too but she didn't, so I walked to the register. I decided that while I was there I would look at the men's department.
When I got to the men's department, I saw this brightly colored men's shirt and I started laughing. And I decided to buy it. When I got to the register, the woman took both shirts from me and I could tell she was wondering if I was buying both for myself, but I didn't say anything. After she rang me up and I was leaving, she kinda yells out at me, "hey, if you need any men's pajama's, they are by the men's socks and they are only a dollar each." I said o.k. but I was all set. But my curiosity got the better of me so I went over. They were actually men's sweatpants and they were priced at a dollar. I bought one.
Somebody stole the catalytic converter off Kellie car the other night while she was at work, so Emma and I had to pick her up Wednesday morning. I took her back to work Wednesday night and my dad and I took his car trailer to load up the Cavalier to get it fixed.
It's back home now, but I'd still like to find the f***ers that did it. My dad said if he ever saw someone doing it to his car, he'd drop the jack down, then call the police - and mention they might want an ambulance too.
A few years ago someone stole something off the engine of our loss prevention person (I have even less clue about engines than computers, so I can't tell you what, it's the irony that struck me) in the store parking lot in broad daylight. We've also had a cashier have the doors off his Jeep Wrangler stolen.
It's that time of year, I suppose. All the local critters are ramping up, becoming more active. We're still putting out bird seed and we're getting dozens of birds flying in, fighting amongst one another... and the squirrel keeps on coming. Today it hauled the seed bell up onto the patio roof using the chain it was hanging from, and started to chow down. Husband chased it off after a while because the food was for the birds after all.
Half an hour later we saw it running along the back wall with a huge piece of corn on the cob in its mouth.

A couple summers ago we put a bird feeder in our backyard. So, one day I am looking out the back and I see what I thought was a HUGE rat eating the seeds off the ground. I went out to chase it away and it ran into a pipe that lead to our garage. Where it spent the next week or so trashing the garage. We finally got someone professional to catch it (I wanted it caught humanely) and it turned out to be an opossum.

Does anyone else have some sort of "quick reply" box below the end of each thread? I can either post with plain text now or click on "Full Editor" to get to the smiles, image options, etc.
