I've read a few McCammon books, my favorite by far has to be The Wolf's Hour. A werewolf slashing up Nazi's just floats my boat. :lol

Jack,

This will probably upset a few people, but I dont think Graeme Masterton has written anything in the last few years that could be considered gtreat. Which is a pity as he used to one of my favorite authors. I seem to be disapointed by the time I finish his books now. A real sense of is that it. And trying to merge two series into one in Manatou blood just reeked of desperation.

I didn't end up reading "Flesh Gothic" yet, I'm saving it because I thought a copy of "Slither" would have turned up on e-bay in the UK here by now but so fine no dice.

Instead I read "Duet for the Devil" by T. Winter-Damon and Randy Chandler which was....fucking amazing. If you like your books hardcore, then get yourself a copy of this one. It's a Necro title which are always good and it's got a foreword by good old Ed Lee, because he loves the book too.

After that I read my first Ray Garton book, "The New neighbour", not having read Ray Garton before I was not sure what to expect, but the book was class, definalty gonna be getting some more Garton soon, infact I've got a copy of "The Folks" sitting staring at me right now.

Now I'm reading "Operator B" by Edward Lee. I just can't get away from him for long. It's not a very long book only about 150 pages or so, so I should get through that in a night, but I'm making it my missing to read as much of his work as I can.

Finished Brian Knights "King of Souls", really good it was. After reading that I'm definalty going to be getting "Broken Angel" & "Hacks". It was nice and dark, just about the right length to give a good story enough room to develop.

Also read Brian Lumley's "Necroscope: The Touch". Well it wasn't what I had hoped for. The writting was first class, and the story was excellent, but I was dissapointed. I guess it's my own fault, you see I never like to read the back of a book or any reviews of something I'm interested in. Usually the author is enough for me to buy something and then just start it with a clear head and no clue as to what is about to happen other than the title. I guess I just took it for granted that after 13 books about Vampires the 14th book would be about vampires too, shame on me for taking anything for granted. It's still a great book writen by the Grand Master.

Just finished Patrick Lestewka's "Confessions of the Archivist". I was lucky enough to spot this on an e-bay auction from badmoon books. I can find no information about it on the internet, but from the inside the cover it's stated it's a 500 print run from corrosion press dated 2003. Any of you read Lestewka's stories? Until I picked up "Damned: an anthology of the lost" from Necro pubs. I had no idea this guy excisted. After reading "The Coliseum" which was the first story in "Damned", I need more of his work. "Bitchfight" from the Necro Chapbook was vicious and brutal, and his Novel "The Preserve" also by Necro was just plain fucking fantastic. "Rust & Bone" which he wrote under the name Craig Davidson is a gem of a collection of stories. and now untill "Imprint" comes out fromDelirium later I've got no more of his work to read. Someone needs to seriously give this guy a shit load of money so he can quit his day job and get down to some serious churning out of stories, books and novella's. If your reading this Dave Barnett, give Pat a poke in the ribs to get him moving, cause I heard somewhere he's supposed to be working on another collection for Necro , and I want to read it :v

Not sure what to read now, an awfull lot of cool stuff has wound up on my shelf in the last couple fo weeks. "Sex drugs & power tools" by Ed Lee, "Poisoning Eros" by Wrath James White...to be honest I should stop reading for awhile and get to putting some of my collection on E-bay to fund this expensive habit I've got. I know at the end of the day a book is a book and only as good as the story that's in it. But I do love them shiny covers, the little numbers inside telling me how many other poeple out there are lucky enough to have a copy of what I'm holding, or the scribble in the authors own hand. There is also the thrill of the hunt, waiting for something to wind up on e-bay and hoping that no one else has seen it so you can snatch it up and still have some money left o bid on something else. But for me it's always feast or famine, there's never just one thing I want at a time, so I have to let thing slip through the net so I can concentrate my limited resources on one thing. Still waiting for a signed copy of Philip Nutman's "Wetwork" to turn up again, twice now I've been jibbed out of a copy, I've got the Trade copy at work, but I won't by it because without the signiature it not so special...oh my god...I think I might need some professional help :p

Did you enjoy them? Any of them really poor and you wish you had skipped it? Or really cool and everyone ion the world should be given a copy to read, digest and become enlightened from? I've got Cell and Bloodstained Oz on my shelf, and I've been looking at "World of Hurt".

Hmmm...
The Pines by Dunbar or Slither by Lee. Which should I read? Right now, I am on an H.P. Lovecraft story binge, but feel like reading a full novel next. Which should it be?

Just finished listening to Dark Dixie: Tales of Southern Horror: by Ronald Kelly. great, if you can find it. its out of print. I found it on amazon marketplace.

Dark Journey by A.R. Morlan

My fave book from her. altho, of the stories of her's, none have been disappointing. I wish she'd do more full length novels. I've read this several times. and The Amulet is good as well.

Hey CAO if I were you I'd go for Pines and save your copy of SLither till November when I think the leisure paperback will be out, that way you can keep your limited edition all nice and untouched.

I finished "Horncranker" by ED Lee, damn that guy's extreme, I loved every minute of it.

Also read "The Last Motel" by Brett McBean. What a trip that was, really nice flow to the story with the gaps filled in along the way as the story goes back and forth between the different characters. So far I've read 2 Australian authors that I know of, Gerlach and this guy, so far things are looking great.

Now I'm onto "The Loch" by Steve Alten. Only ever read "Meg" by this guy, about a Carcharodon megalodon shark, so big that it could eat jaws in one bite, it was superb, I'm hoping for more of the same with this novel about the mystery of Loch Ness. Just started the first few pages last night so I can't form an opinion yet.

Horncranker was AWESOME. I kept seeing Bruce Campbell in the lead role.

I've been reading Scott Nicholson all month. The Harvest, The Manor, I'm about 100 pages into The Home now. The Farm will finish out my unread Nicholsons.
