Books read and recommended for January, 2017.
Hard cover -
1. Charlie the Choo-choo by Beryl Evans (Stephen King) from Simon & Schuster. Oh man, I want to ride that train.
2. Famous Monsters Presents: Tales From the Acker Mansion edited by Holly Interlandi from American Gothic Press. A real blast.
3. School’s Out by Brian Keene from Thunderstorm Books. I felt like i was there. Cool stuff.
4. Come to Dust by Bracken MacLeod from Thunderstorm Books. First MacLeod for me and I’m blown away. Feel like I should read it again.
5. Throne of the Bastards by Steven L. Shrewsbury and Brian Keene from Thunderstorm Books. Just couldn’t care about the characters or goings on but at least it was quite humorous.
6. Dead on the Bones by Joe R. Lansdale from Subterranean Press. Well written but Lansdale’s pastiches are not my fav by him.
7. Unidentified by Michael McBride from DarkFuse. Another scifi/horror romp from the master.
8. The Vampyricon (Trilogy) by Douglas Clegg from Lonely Road Books. Clegg creates a new vampire mythos and it is very good.
9. Coco Butternut by Joe R. Lansdale from Subterranean Press. Lansdale scores again. Love Hap & Leonard.
10. Joe Hill: The Graphic Novel Collection from IDW. Superb collection of awesome writing and art. Love it.

Digital -
11. Fungoid by William Meikle from DarkFuse. Terror-filled ride with the world under siege by a strange fungus. Nice sci/fi-horror blend.

Finished Coldheart Canyon by Clive Barker today. I enjoyed it just as much this time around.

Post subject:  Re: What is everyone reading?

started up The Bridge by John Skipp. I read the pb version first a long time ago. It had John Skipp and Craig Spector listed as the authors on that one, not sure why it changed to just Skipp. I remember it was pretty good back when I read it the first time. I got a good deal on the kindle version, so I thought I'd read it again.

Post subject:  Re: What is everyone reading?

Books read and recommended for March, 2017.
Hard cover -
1. A Kiss of Thorns by Tim Waggoner from DarkFuse. Excellent novella of young love and a messed up serial killer.
2. A Little Bronze Book of Cautionary Tales by Jonathan Maberry from Borderlands Press. Four well-written shorts.
3. The Nightmare Within by Glen Krisch from Thunderstorm Books. Excellent creepy premise might be better as a novella as it seemed a bit wordy at times.
4. Welcome to Necropolis by Bryan Killian from Thunderstorm Books. This one snuck up on me by the end. A heavy hitter with the emotions but plenty of zombie action too.
5. The Highwayman by Craig Saunders from DarkFuse. Well-written journey into a world of death.
6. The Nightly Disease by Max Booth III from DarkFuse. Only some humor salvaged this story. Difficult read as characterization and scenes are not engaging and repetition is rampant.

Paperback -
7. The Devil’s Guests by Matt Shaw with others including Jeff Strand, Wrath James White, Kealan Patrick Burke, Shane McKenzie, Ryan Harding, Gary McMahon and more. Grisly, obscene, serial killer runs a hotel and the guests are not leaving.
8. The Darkest Lullaby by Jonathan Janz from Samhain. Vampires and more horrors await within.
9. Hap & Leonard: Blood and Lemonade by Joe R. Lansdale from Tachyon. The younger days of Hap & Leonard still page-turning and funny. Good stuff.

Finished off Gone South by Robert McCammon. I really enjoy this story. Action, adventure, a little mystery and a lot of visuals. I'm glad I added this to my kindle. I still have the pb on my shelf. Just in case.

1. Something Violent by Kristopher Rufty from DarkFuse. I like Rufty’s style of madness.
2. Fairy Lights by Edward Lorn from DarkFuse. Excellent horror-fantasy with cops, boys, camping, waterfalls and some serious monsters and one messed up youth.
3. Floaters by Kelli Owen from Thunderstorm Books. Excellent crime horror thriller that will stay with you. May be Owen’s best story to date.

The Light at the End - Skipp & Spector in the evenings.

Post subject:  Re: What is everyone reading?

Books read and recommended for June, 2017.
Hard cover -
1. Rise of the Chupacabras by Raegan Butcher from Necro. Fast=paced action and thrills in this third volume of chupacabra horrors, but the worse evil is man.
2. A Little Silver Book of Sharp Shiny Slivers by Joe Hill from Borderlands Press. Interesting introspective stuff.

Paperback -
3. With a Face of Golden Pleasure by Ryan C. Thomas from Grand Mal Press. Excellent end-of-life novella. The ending is stunning.
4. Redemption by John Everson. Wild ride that satisfies with abundant horrors. Take a trip to demon hell and see if you survive.

Digital -
5. Boy’s Night by Wrath James White and Matt Shaw from Matt Shaw Pubs. Horror, sex and gore at it’s best. Rape is a tough subject but handled well here.
