If anyone's getting tired of hearing me talk about the brilliance of Greg Gifune's writing, keep in mind that I still have four more of his books to read, so strap yourselves in.
Blood In Electric Blue is 205 pages of an amazing look into the troubled soul of main character Dignon Malloy. Dignon is a man whose life has been put on hold due to the murder of a friend, and the loss of a girlfriend who crushed his heart like it was a grouchy spider that only wants to bite you on your ass while you’re sleeping.
The only friend in his lonely life now, is Mr. Tibbs: a cool black cat Dignon loves much more than a mere house pet. Greg does an excellent job of opening up Dignon’s darkened soul and laying it out right in front of your eyes on the page, forcing you to confront it, because you sure as hell won’t be able to stop reading once you start this book.
Dignon then goes on to find a mysterious woman’s name and phone number inside a book on strange mythological creatures. They meet, and more weird things move on to invade Dignon’s fevered mind. He starts to grapple with questions that only a mentally ill person would ask. But you have no idea if he’s ill psychologically, because Gifune’s writing will have you guessing about that through the entire story.
If you like books with the premise of a lone, tortured figure, trying to find his way in a world where reality and unreality mix to confuse him even more, and brilliant prose that you just can’t stop reading, then check out Blood In Electric Blue and enter another mind: the one of Greg F. Gifune-a guy who has a long future ahead of him in the world of dark fiction and horror.

It's also nice that you are putting it on Amazon. Greg is right, a lot of people will read a review and make a decision if they are on the fence before buying a book on Amazon.

Thanks, Tt.
And Greg, when I saw the dedication to your mom and dad I figured this one had special meaning. It shows in the writing. Big time.
I always make sure I review a book I like, and even more so with authors like Greg who way more people need to know of. A lot of people read reviews on sites like Amazon, and I always tell people to review a book even if you only liked it a little bit. One person reading a good review can sell a lot more than one book; that one person can tell his/or her friend, and so on. Word of mouth is a powerful way to get the word about a good author out there. Hell, I heard about The Bleeding Season from everyone on here.
Saying Uncle is turning out to be the kind of book that you just can't get enough of. And man, how about the guy who wrote the introduction? Having a blurb from The Pic Man is one amazing thing, but to be able to pull out your book and say "Look who did the intro" with the name Tom Piccirilli underneath the word Introduction ... Well, that would make my damned head spin off my neck and go rolling somewhere I couldn't find it.
Saying Uncle is one book Greg should definitely pull out to show the grandchildren in future years to come. I know I would.

I have a connection to all my novels on one level or another, but Saying Uncle is one in particular that I have a deep personal connection to for a number of reasons. Thankfully it's always received very positive reaction from readers and critics alike, and also recently got a very nice starred review in Publishers Weekly which led to a lot of sales for the title internationally. And Pic agreeing do the intro was a thrill for sure.
On Blood in Electric Blue, it's a novel that takes place on a lot of different levels. I knew going in it would be different than most of my other novels and that it wouldn't be for everyone. The story is a complex one, but all the clues explaining it are there, you just have to see them. And it wasn't about being cute or trying to be clever, it was simply the way the story needed to be told or it wouldn't have had the impact I was going for. Apart from someone just not caring for the novel (which is cool), it seems from the reaction I've gotten so far (the majority of which has been very positive), that most readers understand what it's really about and it works for them. Those who don't find it confusing. I think the ending is a good measuring stick. If when you get to the end of BIEB you realize it completely sums up what the entire journey has been about, then you "got" the novel. But honestly, I think a reader looking for something where everything is tied up in a neat little bow probably won't find this one to their liking.

I felt the way Dignon was written, that I kind of had a feeling while reading the book, that it wasn't going to wind up with a clear-cut ending where every single thing is explained. But I think the ending suited the way the entire book was written. I had no problem with the ending at all.
Blood In Electric Blue is a perfect example of good dark fiction. I wouldn't call it horror, in the traditional sense. It was dark and brooding, but written in a way that made it a pleasure to read.
Once again, excellent job with the writing on this one, Greg.

Haaa! Haaaa! Haaaa! This board has been possessed by Greg Gifune threads! And you will all wake in the middle of the night to see Greg standing at the foot of your bed, wearing a long black cloak with creepy candles floating around him!
