Nothing To Lose AVAILABLE NOW - FINALLY!

I recieved an e-mail last night from Burning Effigy. The print run of my chapbook collection, NOTHING TO LOSE, should be picked up from the printer sometime this afternoon. I will post ordering information as I recieve it. I'm very excited over this project.

For those of you who know the story behind the re-release of this little collection, you will understand how tickled and excited I am to see it finely hit print.

For those that don't own Nothing To Lose, BUY THIS BOOK! The finest short story Steve has ever wrote is in this collection and the other two are damn fine bonuses. (I know Thad has the same opinion of this book as I do, though he would pick the middle story as Steve's finest short story where as I picked the last).

If you don't own any Vernon, this is a great way to get your collection started. Every lover of dark fiction should own a copy of Steve's "Hard Raods" and "Nothing To Lose" and flaunt it whenever possible. I dig out my copy of 'Nothing To Lose' and re-read it every March 23, and when you own it...you'll find yourself picking out a date and doing the same (just don't pick March 23).

Wasn't that an interior piece, Steve? I'll have to get my copy and double-check. I do like the Daredevil/Dark Knight feel to it, though I also like the original cover with its close-up.

The first story is very comic book (for those familiar with comics, think Grant Morrison on Doom Patrol) and very good, with a nice ending. The second story is probably the most f---ed up thing I've ever read and I loved every word of it--this one is right up Horrordude's alley, I think. The third story is, possibly with the exception of Trolling Lures, the most mature story of Steve's I've read.

If you haven't read anything of Steve's before, it is an excellent place to start. And then you can go buy the rest of his stuff, like I did. You won't be disappointed.

Craig, you won't be let down. The cover art on this new edition of Nothing To Lose is killer. Looks like something right out of the awesome art from Sin City. And the fact that it's $8 isn't too bad either.

As far as psychotic descriptions go, Lamprey Fellatio has to the one of the best short stories I've ever read, making me actually have to put it down and shake off the creepy feeling it gave me.

Killer stories.
