I have 16 or so novels, four collections...TONS of short stories..

Upcoming this years are (in July) "The Not Quite Right Reverend Cletus J. Diggs & The Currently Accepted Habits of Nature" from Bad Moon Books, "Ennui & Other States of Madness" from Dark Regions, "Maelstrom" from Full Moon Press - later in the year VINTAGE SOUL from both Bad Moon (limited) and Five Star / Gale (trade HC) and my significant other Patricia Lee Macomber and I just landed a Stargate Atlantis novel...

In other words? I'm busy

I dropped out for a few years, but along the way collected a couple of Stoker awards (Trish has one too) and was President of HWA...

The publishing thing was long ago...I was already writing, but I thought I could do as well or better than other small press magazines back then. i found out better - it's freaking HARD WORK - but I did manage 12 or so issues of The Tome - reached international distributoin and full color covers before it imploded.

My random thought for the day is that CBC (our national broadcaster here in Canada) needs a serious kick in the ass. They've decided that they aren't going to renew the licensing agreement with the composer of the Hockey Night in Canada theme that has been like our second national anthem for the last 40 years. And the thing that pisses me off the most is that these idiots are a publicly funded company. They don't even spend there own money. It's OUR f@cking money!

I'm so pissed off right now you have no idea. Hockey Night in Canada without the theme would be like your church just suddenly deciding to worship a whole new deity. I'm not kidding, it's that big a deal here. This might sound stupid to non-Canadians, but the theme is iconic. People identify with it in a way that is difficult to explain. And I swear to God, if they don't bring back the theme, I will never watch another hockey broadcast on CBC ever again.

TSN here I come.

Speaking of dreams, I dreamt an entire Will Ferrell movie of my own creation last night. I don't remember much of it, but he played triplets, each with a very unique personality, and it was hilarious.

Too bad I can't remember the specifics. I coulda made millions.

Tt, it rained like an old cow pissing on a flat rock on Wednesday, and the last two days have been in the 90's. The humidity was atrocious Thursday and not so bad today, but it still felt like a kick in the stomach going from a nice cool building outside. And the receiving area at work was fairly sweltering the last couple of days.

David Niall Wilson is one of those authors I keep seeing and wanting to read, but not actually reading. I will remedy that soon, I think.

My 13 year old nephew is with us for a while and he brought his Guitar Hero II for the PS2. He played YYZ by Rush on the hard setting and set his personal best on it, bringing a smile to my face. I tried it and sucked. Bad.

Random thoughts....

Kellie had a doctor's appointment today - she's dilating at a 3, and something along with that is at 80%.

I am playing in a softball league this summer. Games are on Monday night in June and July. We started last week and won 19-15. I also took a hard hit ground ball that hit me on the inside of my ankle. I was limping around for a couple days, and had a rather large bruise.

It was finally nice to get a bit of reading done today (The Descent) before I went to work. Between softball Monday, work Tuesday and Wednesday, and Kellie and I going out yesterday, it's been awhile since I sat down with a book.

Speaking of last night, we played miniature golf without realizing we were in a tornado watch. It was pretty cloudy, but wasn't raining. Anyways, about half an hour after we got home, it began pouring and our power went out for 2 hours. During that time, we played chess by candlelight.

Dnial, it's Cowboys From Hell. I saw Pantera live on that tour, their first, and Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing was from the back of beyond. That guy really used to shred. It's too bad he was shot dead on stage by a psychotic loser.

My brother used to know the guys in Pantera. They broke big when they won a Battle of the Bands in Dallas...at the time, my brother's career choice was selling bootleg t-shirts for some guy that drove them from concert to concert (lol)
