40 pounds lost (updated first post with new picture)

I am not a good dieter. But when a online friend of mine started doing south beach I watched the weight come off her. I asked her about it and she told me. I thought man I can do this. I don't have to buy any special food. I don't have to count calories. I don't have to do anything that you have to do on a normal diet. I could eat chocolate. I can eat pudding. I can do this. So I started. The first two weeks are hard as hell I won't kid you. You basicly detox your body. But let me tell you something you are never hungry. EVER. In fact during the first week I had eaten so much that when I went to weigh myself I was positive that I was going to gain weight. Instead I lost 6 pounds. Now don't get all excited you only lose weight like that the first two weeks and most of it is water weight. After that you lose about a pound a week. Actually the third week you proably gain a pound. Here is some pictures of my journey I am not done yet.
And sorry about the huge size but I have no idea how to shrink the darn things!!! (I have lost 35 pounds so far and would like to lose another 30 pounds
Here is the picture that started it all. 195 pounds. It shocked me. I had no idea how fat I had gotten. It wasn't what I saw in the mirror

Well done, you should be very proud of yourself. Seeing how well you've done kinda gives me a push to finall y stop smoking.

It was funny that I didn't realize I was that heavy. When I saw that first picture I went into shock. Literally. It was the wake up call that I needed.

Now the last pounds seem to be coming off slower but I am still doing it.

I never would have believed that I had the will power to do something like this. But it turned out after that first two weeks it was super easy!!!

Good for you Lost. My motivation to get back into shape is that my last mosh pit I went to the little kids pooped me out soo quickly. Now I have the Warped Tour coming up in August so I need to get my ass in gear.

Hellolost. Are you doing the diet from the book preparing your own meals, or do you buy the prepackaged meals?

I am just cooking my own meals. What I love about this diet is I can eat pretty much what ever I want to have. And if I want pie I can eat it lol.

I do like the South Beach pizza's though so I grab those for days I don't feel like cooking. They totally fill me up and taste yummy

Congratulations!

I know that it's a tough thing to do. I ended up having surgery to lose mine. It worked out well but its always better to avoid going that route.

All resized. I got jammed up at work yesterday and got home pretty late (7 pm). Then my god-daughter came over to print off her paper for school and finally at 8, I just wanted to sit down and watch No Country for Old Men. By the time it was over (a little after 10) I was just too tired to do anything more.

Pretty much it teaches you to eat right and portion control. Instead of grabbing chips and dip after two weeks you are more apt to grab a few pieces of LF salami and cheese. Doesn't mean you won't eat chips and dip you just actually notice how much you are eating where before I could have sat down with a bag and dip and ate the whole thing lol.
The first two weeks are all about getting control of your cravings. After that first two weeks you really do lose all your cravings for crap. That doesn't mean you don't want them it just means you no longer automaticly put them in your mouth. You learn better choices lol.
