wow, my town is pretty accurate. interesting site.

Moffett, Oklahoma is the most famous speed trap in our state. The town doesn't amount to more than a mud stain on the OK/ Arkansas border, but they used to nail EVERYONE and enough people started claiming they were falsely ticketed that the state investigated and discovered that more than half the town's revenue came from the tickets(which is illegal), that the officers pay came in part from the tickets,(also illegal), that they had annexed sections of the neighboring town of Roland to patrol(illegal), and that they were writing tickets on the interstate, which is the Highway Patrol's territory(very illegal).

The F.BI. came in last year or the year before to audit the town and actually wound up banning the officers from patrolling! The Highway Patrol had to take over and patrol the town for about a week.

Where I live, if you want to do just about anything you have to cross the border to Fort Smith, Arkansas and that means going through Moffett. My mother works in Fort Smith and has to drive through the town every night and she's been stopped many times over the years on a section of highway that only takes about 3 MINUTES to cross. When the feds they shut down the Moffett police force and CNN started interviewing people and broadcasting their stories to the rest of the nation a lot of us who had been victimised felt vindicated.
