Thanks for this little tidbit, TT. That's the first I hear about his favorite author being Campbell--interesting! I would've thought Laymon or John Shirley would've been more likely candidates. I knew about his favorite horror book; I read Our Lady of Darkness based on him saying that a while back and I loved it. I also agree wholeheartedly with his choice of The Ninth Gate; that movie is underrated and my favorite Polanski as well. Can't wait to read his Minotauress!
I didn't like Rosemary's Baby (I find it overrated) but Chinatown is a very close second to the Ninth Gate if not its equal. I just love films dealing with the occult and mysterious books and this one was right up my alley. The locales where they shot were also breathtaking. This film has a die hard cult following; maybe not amongst Polanski fans but amongst occult film fans.
I'm not a big Ed Lee fan, but I did enjoy a few of his novels (seems the ones you guys didn't care for though). For some reason this one is wanting me to read it, maybe its the buzz or the cover, but I kinda like the idea of Nuns in an Ed Lee setting.
I thought the Infernal series was some of the most boring horror I ever read, but I did enjoy The Backwoods, and I liked Slither up until the ending. I did enjoy Sucubus but not Incubus. I could really take or leave The Coven. Was The Messenger the one about the box? That one was pretty good too, but for some reason I confuse it with Bentley Little's The Mailman, I think because of the post office scenes in The Messenger.

Hey Tony,
Not to get off topic here again, but I wanted to quickly mention that I received an e-mail yesterday from CD regarding KILL WHITEY. They wanted to confirm my address and make me aware that the book would be shipped very soon. It should not be too long now.
I am off to pick Michael's short story compilation after work at the post office and I am still waiting for Steve's book to come along. Steve's novella is taking so long. I thought it was supposed to have been released already. Do you know of any delays? I am going to check out Horror Mall in a few minutes.
I got Mike's book about 2 - 3 weeks ago, and I'm still waiting for Steve's. Like you, I thought it should be due around now. Thad sent me something on it I think so I know its still shipping.
Make sure you read Kill Whitey first. I am in no hurry my friend. I've been sick now for over a week and have been falling asleep as soon as I hit the pillow I am so wiped out. My tbr list is growing because I've fallen so far behind.
Which brings me to this item...I'M PISSED! I sent away for a signed Tom Pic copy of November Mourns. I only paid ten bucks but it came in unsigned! I could have got it for a penny damn it unsigned. The book came from France of all places and it will cost me more to send it back than I paid for it. The best I can do is complain to Amazon and give the seller a bad rating. This is the first time I've got burned buying books off of Amazon. I'm just glad it was for only ten bucks.

Shoot, sorry about Tom's book. I have only really used Amazon once and got burned. I usually don't save any money because the best selection seems to be at Amazon.com rather than Amazon.ca. By the time I put in the shipping costs, the book never ends up cheaper. I am better off getting my local bookstore to get it straight from the publisher and paying through them.
I might be using it more for books that don't make it to Canada. I have been trying to get my hands on THE GUARDENER'S TALE by Bruce Boston, and I just can't get a copy here in town. I might be giving Amazon another shot...
Talking about the flu, the kids went to the doctor's last Friday for a shot and they came back with a nasty bug. Our entire family is down with the flu. I think that I am going to hike out soon, get the groceries done and get Laimo's book. I am hoping to stay home all night and getting some rest. I had a sore throat for the last three days, now it has filtered to a runny nose and the shakes.

Thats exactly the sickness I caught. I spend one whole day in bed and even missed work, and I've hardly ever done that. It just lingers also. It finally broke when I took the hottest bath I could stand and stayed in it for around 10 - 15 minutes, before the water got cold. I elevated my body temperature so it could kill those germ bastards. My wife caught it though and she was sicker even longer than me. They wound up taking my mother in law to the hospital for two days because of it (I caught it from them originally).
I think Laurel caught it earlier too. It's a nasty one.
I will get to Michaels book after I try to finish Bloodstone. I'm not getting to far on Nate's book because of my being ill, but the pace of this book is so slow I don't feel a need to hurry through it anyway.

I finished HOUSE OF BLOOD last night. It was my first time reading a Bryan Smith novel, and I must say that I am disappointed.
I just feel to weak to dissect the entire novel right now because of the cold, but I thought the biggest challenge in that book was the dialogue. It needed a lot of work. One word replies like “Whatever” or short affirming replies like “Go girl” in a novel just do not fly with me.
It made it too juvenile and at certain points redundant. I wish I had the novel here at work so I could illustrate a quick example.
Wow! The cover for Ed Lee's new book is the most kick ass Leisure has done in a long time. And to answer your question TT, it is about nuns. It was originally called The Order of the Scarlet Nuns. It is a vampire book though, so many of you will be turned off by that. I am looking forward to it; I usually enjoy 99% of Lee's writing
And HHF, I'm from Canada as well and I do most of my book shopping on Indigo.ca Their discounts are unbeatable. Make sure you order for $39 and more and you get free shipping. I often save $30 on a single shipment!
As far as small press books are concerned, I just ordered Norm Partridge's Mr. Fox and Other Feral Tales from Realms of Fantasy Books. It was marked down from $40 to $25. It's a cool online store and they carry books from all the best small presses (even some out of print) . Check it out here: http://store.realmsoffantasybooks.com/index.html

Thanks Alan!
Most of my shopping online is through Indigo.ca, plus I have their Rewards card for those additional savings. It is just that some books, like the one that I am looking for now, is not offered by them.
The book was one of the nominees for a Bram Stoker, so I am surprised that it is not readily available in Canada. I did find a copy at amazon.com (amazon.ca does not have a copy either) for $15. By the time you add shipping, I am looking at almost $30.

I liked The Backwoods, too, Tt. But then I read it after Flesh Gothic, which would make anything seem good. I am looking forward to this.
I also saw on the Horror Mall that Ed Lee has a KIDS book. That's right. K.I.D.S. I'm thinking about picking it up just to see what his writing would be like without all the sex.
HHF and Tt--I checked the Bad Moon Books website earlier this week and Steve's book is still showing as being due in early April. I also waited a while after everyone else got their copies of Hard Roads last year because I bought the hardcover. I don't know the cause of the delay on this one, though.
