I'm not sure it's Walt in the coffin because the obituary article Jack was holding mentioned that the deceased had a teenage son. I think it is Michael in the coffin.

That's right, I had forgotten that. But isn't Walt dead? I thought the house Miles went to to get rid of a ghost (Walt?) and find the loot was Michael's mother's house.

The coffin can't be Michael as Jack said he was neither friend nor family. I think even after all that happened, Jack may consider him a friend. Besides, surely some other of the Oceanic six or the Others would have been at the viewing. I think Ben's group were told that if his daughter ever returned, to kill everyone with her. Widmore wants the island because it seems to be a nexus for time and maybe space. Parallel worlds is not out of the question, or alternate timelines. Even leaving the island is tricky. If you do not go on the correct coordinates, you risk insanity... |
