Put together Starship Troopers and Independence Day, and Pacific Rim will be somewhere close. It's a typical three act, heroes against the odds, with yet more typical character development. It's also -

I give it 8/10. Best movie I've seen all summer. Even better than Iron Man 3. This was a love letter from a fan boy to the fans. I think it's going to break bigger than the "experts" think. If I had the money, I'd go see it again.
