The only thing new this week is that I seem to be the main character in a children's book: "Potter Dunbar and the Deathly Illness." Oddly enough, the dog has identical symptoms (though his, I suspect, stem from chewing on an ailanthus tree, which I swear I have not been doing). We've both done nothing for three days but lay in bed drinking camomile tea and watching cartoons. (Dash is partial to Road Runner.) Oh, and self-pity has figured largely on my agenda.

A friend dropped by with a home remedy in a wax-sealed bottle. It looks like something you'd light and throw at a Soviet tank. I swear she's trying to kill me.
