I'm not a fan of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse book series and I am not a fan of HBO's adaptation of the series, "True Blood", but I DO support the author's right to do what they damn well want with creating a proper end to their creation: readers who act like this are asshats. Period. No excuses. You do NOT threaten the writer. Fandom does not own the work. This isn't "Misery".

I've always thought the 'idea' of readers becoming invested in your characters, discussing them on messageboards, writing fanfic etc was pretty cool. It's a sign you're telling a good story (and it's an ego trip, too, I suppose).

But in practice? Wow...
I know a lot of it is keyboard warrior, internet yap and can be easily dismissed. But those hysterical 'lets go round to her house' people? Someone needs to take a chill pill and fuck the hell off.
