I agree with you. Loved the first, liked the second, didn't care for the third. This one was great though. If you have a Kindle Everdead is available in e-book format. Well worth a read.

Thanks to a kind stranger, I'll be reading Everdead by Rio Youers sooner than expected. and since the last new read was a short one, I've justified reading another new read since it's a short one as well. I'm silly that way.

finished off Everdead by Rio Youers today. very good vampire story. Mr. Youers is a great story teller. I'll be reading that one again eventually. Thanks again to the kind person for the gift of this book. I really appreciate it.

Also Sara Gran's new book --CLAIRE DEWITT & THE CITY OF THE DEAD -- which is amazing.

Have people here read her COME CLOSER? Elegantly fierce horror novel about demonic possession (possibly).

I'm not sure if I'd call Sara's new book a straight-up "horror" novel. It's the first in a very hip mystery series with certain (possibly) crossover fantastical elements. I reviewed it here a couple of weeks ago: www.thecoldspot.blogspot.com.

I just started Everville by Clive Barker on my kindle. I really enjoyed this one when I read it several years ago. I decided to make it my next re-read. I'm curious as to what those of you here have to say about it. I wish they would put Weaveworld in e-book format. I loved that back in the day.

I've read all Clive's books. He's an amazing writer. Weaveworld was the first novel I ever read by him. I'm pretty sure Everville is a kind of sequel to The Great And Secret Show, so you might want to read that one first.

If I'm wrong, it's because I feel like 20 sick people sneezed all over me, and I'm fighting my way back from a nasty virus.

But Clive rules; everyone should read him.

I liked The Axeman Cometh. It was very different. His Fury novels, not so much. My favorite novel by him is Son of Endless Night.

I just finished Feesters in the Lake & Other Stories by Bob Leman. I really enjoyed these well written tales. He was a consummate story teller. My favorites were Window, Olida, The Time of the Worm, Instructions, and the title story.

Is Midnight House Press still around? I love their books, but the web site doesn't seem to exist.

Given up on Fetish for now and moved on to John Dies at the End by David Wong.

Great first 100 - 150 pages, followed by a pretty bad slump in quality for 50-100 pages then it has recovered well and looking good again. I almost gave up around 200 pages in. Glad I didn't.
