Writing Updates

I've actually been concentrating on trying to read more instead of doing much in the way of writing, but I am trying to work on a non-horror piece.

It seems like there's always some story in the news about a depressed teen committing suicide. While I hate stuff like this, I couldn't help but wonder what might a person's life be like if they tried it and for whatever reason, it didn't work.

Since I never plan on publishing this, or even sending it out really (it's just an experiment), I could post it here if anyone's interested.

Oh, and at some point, I'll get back to working on The Trunk.

Yeah, keep writing, Craig. You got it right on the reading; I know everyone hears it, but the more you read the more the flow of good writing gets imprinted on your brain. It's like anything you do more of, in way of practice, the better your brain gets at sorting everything out when you sit down to accomplish what you need to.

I just got a rejection notice for a story I recently submitted, but the editor was cool enough to point out what I should have seen before sending it in. So, in a case like that, you still swear when you get it, but it's the kind that helps you along.

I just always hope I won't exceed some of the rejection totals I've read other authors say they've aquired. Let's all aspire to not reach the 500 mark!

Thanks Matt, but I am not counting my eggs until they are scrambled. Nothing may come of all of that stuff I have going on, but my point was Jonah has a lot of fun ahead of him (and maybe some dissapointment) so he should keep on writing.

I'll let you guys know what happens either way.
