The Alaska cold front that is threatening to bring snow to San Jose for the first time since 1976 is making its way through Northern California this morning and is expected to reach the South Bay later today, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds were so gusty, that by 8 a.m. today, about 10,000 customers were without power due, according to a PG&E spokeswoman. By 8:45, PG&E had restored power to more than half of those customers.

Two hours earlier, the cold front had passed through Santa Rosa and was approaching San Francisco, according to forecaster Rick Canepa of the National Weather Service. The cold front is expected to blanket hills and mountain tops with snow, dropping as much as eight inches at higher elevations. Snow levels could drop as low as 100 feet.

Temperatures in the South Bay are expected to top out around 50 degrees, according to the weather service.

By Saturday morning, there could be snowball fights in San Jose.

Kellie's best friend, Sharon's, father passed away last night after battling cancer. Please send good thoughts and prayers to their family. To make matters worse, it was her sister's 22nd birthday as well.

So I went to the doctor on Friday to get a handle on my pmdd (think pms times ten, not fun for anyone including myself) After a long long conversation about everything including depression, I am taking a huge step and starting zoloft. It is a anti depressant. Supposedly it will help with the mood swings from pmdd and we are hoping that it will also help with the depression I seem to find myself in.
I came home with the meds and immediately freaked out over the thought of taking "mind drugs". Like it made me less of a person or something stupid like that. Not reality but what I felt. Anyway I started taking them tonight and will take them for a month to see if I see any difference. At that point I have a phone appointment with the doctor and we will decide what to do.
See I am now officially a crazy person. (I know I am not but that is how I see it in my head)

A week ago this past Friday, it was 60 degrees. Last Friday, it snowed like a sumbitch. By Sunday, it was near 60 again and the snow was gone. It did, however, proceed to rain like a sumbitch, with thunderstorms moving through. I was awakened at 4:30 this morning to the tornado siren going off. (Nothing hit nearby, though a tornado did hit in the state.) When I left for work, it was still nearly 60. When I got off work, it was in the high 30s. It's in the low 30s now, and there's talk of snow tonight.

I'm going to bed, and I refuse to get up until Mother Nature decides on a season and sticks to it.

I have been sick for weeks, Bill is still in Italy (with a view of Venice from his window, the rat) and I will not get to celebrate my birthday with friends on Friday as planned because I'm contagious. This sucks!

Kellie and I were at a funeral today, and they had multiple people go up and give a short, two-minute or so reflection on the guy who passed away. One of those people was the guy's younger brother, and while I know it wasn't on purpose, his word choice left a bit to be desired. Such as;

"He would be hiding upstairs and time after time he scared me to death!"
