I enjoyed P2. There is a particular scene on there that reminded me of one of the stories from Tales From The Crypt 2: The Hitchhiker (I think it was called). You will know it when you see it.

I enjoyed P2 a lot. I think it was a good thriller which delivered what it offered.

Right now I have "Zodiac" in my DVD. I've also been watching many Asian horror films. The first one was the original Shutter which is my favorite so far and much much better than the stupid remake. I also watched the two Ju-Ons, Reincarnation, Infection and The Red Shoes (these two were creepy but in the end made no sense). I'm about to watch Alone, which looks pretty good. Any other asian horror fans around?

In Addition I'm going through Criminal Minds Season 1, and hope to get season 2 very soon.

I'm a hardcore Asian horror film fan. Watched BLACK HOUSE a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it--gory psychological thriller--and have DORM on deck for tomorrow.

I really enjoyed INFECTION although I agree the ending, as happens in most Asian horror films I feel, didn't quite add up with the rest of the film. On the overall I don't mind because in the case of these kinds of films, the bizarre iamgery and creepy mood outweigh the need for a nicely tied up finale.

NORIKO'S DINNER TABLE hits in a couple of weeks. New movie from Sono Sion, director of SUICIDE CLUB and STRANGE CIRCUS.

I just finished 24 season 6. Not as good as other seasons but still great entertainment.

Next up is one of the great shows of all time: The Wire Season 4.

watched quite a bit lately.
season of the witch-early romero film about witchcraft a real weird film but enjoyable as hell.
blood car-this was a horror satire on increasing gas prices, funny and warped as hell.
demonia-fulci evil nun film really cool, with the obligatory eye gouging scene.
house of clocks-another fulci, this was a cool home invasion film that turned into a slasher flick.
delirious-a comedy about paparazzi with steve buscemi, really smart and funny.
senior skip day-new teen comedy in the vien of van wilder and ferris bueller, had larry miller in it so that wa why i saw it and also lea thompson, who still looks damn good, pretty funny.
macon county line-great 70s exploitation film, that really surprises you when it gets to where its going.

I just watched The Orphanage and I loved it! I've been waiting for a director to come along and give us an effective ghost movie that doesn't recycle techniques used by japanese filmakers.

Now on to One Missed Call and Teeth.

I was disappointed with ONE MISSED CALL.

The ORPHANAGE was superb.

I got three more movies from the horror festival out of the way this weekend: Crazy Eights, The Deaths Of Ian Stone and Unearthed.

They were ok if your expectations are not too high.

UNEARTHED is about an alien species that goes on killing rampage. The creature looks like a blend of ALIEN\Predator knock-off. The gore factor was great in some scenes, especially since there is a vertical decapitation (a head is cleaved in half). They blended in some Native folklore in there that didn't seem to fit in very well, but it gave off a bit of a Masterton spin on things. The goriest of all three that I watched that night.

CRAZY EIGHTS is a fun but the weakest of the three. It starts with the premise of a few friends getting together after 20yrs near a hospital where they had been submitted for some experiments. There had been a tragic death of one their friends that caused the separation and the end of the experiments. They open a time capsule that they had hidden away and find a skeleton of a child there. They end up being trapped in the hospital where they grew up, haunted by the ghost of the child of whose skeleton they had uncovered.

There a very few new twists but nothing that much different from what has been done in similar movies. Most of the deaths are done off screen to enhance the suspense, but personally, I thought it was just a budget constraint and it showed. There is nothing much scary here, except maybe the hospital itself. It is big, disarrayed, and spooky. It reminded me a little of THE WAVERLY HILLS SANATORIUM and a movie on it that I had seen (I think it was produced by the SCIFI Channel). It had also been a low budget film, but the one filmed and based on the sanatorium was much more intense.

THE DEATHS OF IAN STONE I thought it to be the strongest of the three. The movie is about Ian Stone (played by the main character in CLOVERFIELD) who keeps having these untimely deaths (lol…go figure) and awaking in a new life but with faint memories of what happened in his previous life. It sounds like your typical “déjà vu, living life in a parallel universe” rehash, doesn’t it? But it is not, not really. There is a neat little twist when the mystery is solved that spirals the story into a science fiction picturesque. And of course, lots more blood was added to the equation. It is far from perfect by any means, but it worked for me. I think that this movie would entertain both horror and scifi fans alike. If you like both, well, don’t hesitate to waste 1hr20min of your time.
