Inside is one of my recent favorites. Just so shocking and brutal and that is what he best horror should do, shcok and upset you. That one along with frontiere(s) are 2 of my recent favorites. recently i saw:
Otis-this was a great black comedy on the Saw type of films, loved illeana douglas as the mom hell bent on revenge.
the signal-this film really had a exploitation feel to it and it was like King's Cell but done right.
funny games-what a brutal film, it had the feel of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre anad the breaking the 4th wall asides were really jarring.

My wife surprised me with a couple of movies for Father's day: She got me the DVD's of The Girl Next Door and The Lost both based on Jack Ketchum's novels. I watched the Girl Next Door but I felt that it didn't come close to being as good as the book but then again most movies don't. But with the subject matter and as graphic as the book is it would have been really hard to get all the subject matter and details into the movie. I am going to give The Lost a shot hopefully before the weekend.

just saw invisible target- an new hk cop film that is very reminscent of the stuff from the 90s of ringo lam and john woo.
human lanterns-a shaw brothers horror film starring lo lieh as a lantern maker making lanterns out of human skin. creepy stuff.
botched-great black comedy that fits together well with the cottage.

Watched a truly bad horror film last night. Called Dead heist. Kind of a crime drama/zombie movie. It was actually pretty silly and low in the scares department, but it did flow smoothly enough on a night where nothing was on tv...Yup, hundreds of channels and all junk. Sheesh.
