Rose Madder was fantastic. The changing painting was very creepy. And one of my favorite lines is from that book. At the very end when her husband sells his motorcycle, It is as if much of his youth was tucked into its saddlebags.

After I finished that book I told Bill he could never sell our motorcycle.

You know, I love Stephen King, but I've never enjoyed the Dark Tower books (I've only read the first two). And his books that are most closely tied to the Dark Tower (Insomnia and Rose Madder) are the ones I enjoy the least. (There are exceptions: I enjoyed Low Men in Yellow Coats for instance.)

Yeah, same here. Except for the Men in Yellow Coats thing. I didn't like that story at all.

You might give The Dark tower III: The Wastelands, a try. The series doesn't really get going until that one. It also happens to be my favorite.

Two sons blessed. Owen King released a collection of short stories or novellas a few years back. Has anyone read them? I think I may add them to my TBR.(sigh, my poor TBR.)
