Hello all,

Last year I announced a project I wanted to do whereby people would send me images of cool stuff (either art or photos), and I would write a story based on them to post each week for a year. The project's (we're in week five and going strong). However, although it's not going to impact for a while, I don't have enough images to complete a full 52 tales. The project is doomed to be forever explaining, somewhat awkwardly, why it's called The 52 at all.

At the moment I have around 15 slots still to fill, and would welcome more submissions.

What's it about? Basically, it's writing just for the pleasure of it. This year a lot of what I'm writing is deadline driven and straining under the wait of expectation, and by contrast The 52 is playtime. A chance to write without worrying about markets, or genres, or anything like that. It's also a chance to collaborate - the fun of the thing so far has been seeing the world through somebody else's filter (instead of my own), and making stories that could not possibly have existed if it was just me and my take on the world. It's already pushed my writing to some new places. Some of those I'll never return to, but some have left me very intrigued and hungry for more.

What the submitter gets is the story, to do whatever they want with. We basically co-own it.

If you try to send me your covers for this project, I shall download your book, send it to The One Who Was One Who Did One To Another One (Asshat), ask him to re-edit it to meet his exacting specifications, and then re-release it under your name... you have been warned.
