I've just become the number 1 Slayer on Facebook

This might seem a bit of frivolity, but it's got a slightly more serious side. The Slayer app has tens of thousands of players, all with at least some interest in the idea of people fighting werewolves, vampires and zombies.

So what better than to have a horror writer in the top spot?

And what better way to leverage some book sales out of it

I've already got Facebook to thank for setting up my appearances at the Sci Fi on The Rock convention, and I'm slowly managing to get other Slayer players interested in my writing. For example I've written two of the other top players into my current novel as characters, and they are helping to spread the word.

So don't let anyone tell you that social networking sites don't work for writers... I'm currently on the way to proving that they do.
