...just making my annual post. Whoops. Looks like I'm a bit late. Missed 2009 entirely. Anyway, here's what's up with this kid: Had a story accepted at Doorways magazine. That was quite a while ago, and haven't heard what's what with its publication. Doesn't look promising, though -- I subscribed to the mag as well (over a year ago) and haven't received a single issue. Been writing whenever I get a moment, which isn't often. There's this novel I've been working on for the better part of 15 years. Having a problem with its conclusion. Let's see, what else? Finances are shit...but I don't want to whine here... You, however, may feel free to whine here, if you feel like it. 'Til next time! |

Doorway's? I did the same thing. I subscribed after a Cellar member told me it was a great zine and that I might want to look into it. Never heard a thing afterward, and that has to be about two years ago. And Cemetery Dance still owes me three books, one of them called Futile Efforts, was reviewed and listed as one of the best books the reviewer read in 2009 in Shroud Magazine! How is that possible when they say its still at the printers for over a year? Jeez...I could whine all day.... Well I hope you finish your novel Darren, I was wondering, do you know what the conclusion is already and are just having a hard time writing it, or are you trying to find an ending? I just had this discussion over in The Cellar with Steve Vernon (a great horror author if you're not familiar with him) and he told me he always knows the beginning and the end when he writes, and just fills in the middle.
