Gene, hope you don't mind me asking. Was this always going to be a novella, or were there plans for a novel at some point?

Janet: It came from a novel, SHADOW OF THE DARK ANGEL, a mention of an early Green Hornet and Cato case early in that novel. Bad Moon Books published both SHADOW and DEATHFLASH. Some time along Liz suggested I do the prequel DOUBLEJACK as a novella. Actually I think it was going to be a bonus for the DEATHFLASH deluxe, but BMB decided not to do a deluxe. Yes, that's right. Then Sideshow Press brought it out by itself. More info than you asked, i guess.
