During the summer of 1987, four minor criminals spend a night in a jail holding cell with a corpse pulled from a river. The road to the morgue is flooded so the body is dropped at the jail until the rain stops. Their situations as minor criminals are strange, funny, and sad. They are lost souls with no real future beyond this rainy night and the next smoke. Simon Dawson is spending the night in jail for writing a bad rent check. Through a series of Pulp Fiction type flashbacks, each prisoner’s circumstance and the source of the horribly disfigured body is explained. No one knows the corpse has been lost from a government weapons project, RedAngel4. The project enforcers will be trying to find it and eliminate any witnesses. When Jesse, one of the prisoners, pokes his toe against the corpse's teeth, the horror begins as his body begins to slowly dissolve from the foot upward and sprays an acid that literally swells and explodes any flesh it touches. The power goes off, trapping several people in the holding cell with the corpse. The prisoners and their jailers try to survive through this one bad night and escape from the building.
