Hey, Tony: I can't say it's worse, but it never gets any better. I've been in some kind of VA therapy off and on for PTSD for the past 30 years. The one positive out of it is that I've probably been responsible for over 4000 combat veterans getting the help they need through VA claims. I still get calls several times a week from veterans seeking advice on what to do. Most of them just need someone to talk them down and give them directions on what to do to get help. Every combat veteran has it to a degree. We're not all crazy like the media used to portray. One thing that bothers me more than anything is how the media today calls anyone who even made it through boot camp a hero, and back in my day, we were all crazy baby killers worthy of nothing more than being spit on. Some memories die hard. All in all I survived where many others haven't, so I consider that a good thing. |
