I have not purchased a book by Centipede Press yet. Welcome! Just a few questions, when you have a sec: How many books do you put out? What famous authors have been published through your Press? Any in the near future? Do you promote new authors? If so, where can we find the submission rules? Is there a website? Thank you // HHF |

Thank you for the welcome, everyone. A lot of good titles are in the pipeline, Nanci, including a gorgeous new edition of If You Could See Me Now by Peter Straub. This edition has an afterword by Thomas Tessier, a bonus short story, an interview with Peter Straub, and some fantastic full-color interiors by JK Potter. The production details are very good, too: ribbon marker, stained top edge, printed cloth for the front board and printed endsheets. The book is signed by Peter Straub, JK Potter, and Thomas Tessier. Just released is a fine noir novel called The Hot Spot by Charles Williams. This was originally published in 1953 by Gold Medal. Our edition has a fantastic 10-page introduction by noir historian, and excellent writer himself, Bill Pronzini. We commissioned new frontispiece artwork by Joe Servello, and this art also appears on the front board. Finally, we reprinted the original Gold Medal paperback art, too. The book is signed by Bill Pronzini and Joe Servello and is limited to 250 copies. I have attached -- hopefully -- a PDF file of the introduction to this posting. I'll figure something out, or just send me an email if you are interested in reading the introduction. We are set to publish around 15 books this year, including a large art book called Knowing Darkness: Artists Inspired by Stephen King. Thank you for reading this! Dear RobertAnt, Have you seen the Artists Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft book? It really is quite a book. Although I do not have any of the copies without a slipcase, or traycase copies, left, there are still a few hundred of the slipcased edition. They retail for $395, but if you mention that you saw this post, you can get a copy for $250, postpaid within the United States. Let me know if anyone is interested. I couldn't even afford it when Dark Discoveries sold a couple copies for mucho low the other day. I wanted to!  I've never seen the book, A Lovecraft Retrospective: Artists Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, but I've seen some of the art in it (as book covers and CD covers on my shelves). |

I have most of the volumes that have been produced so far. Jerad has a terrific approach to book design, layout, and material selection, and his taste in authors and titles is superb. That may sound like a bit of fanboy-ism, and it probably is. But I've found some absolute masterpieces that I would have missed if it weren't for Centipede. And, for my money, I've found no other books that feel as good to the touch when you're holding and reading them than those produced by Centipede. |

Great to see a forum for Centipede! I've been an avid fan for some time and have never been disappointed, no matter the genre. Always excellent reading, and the layouts are perfect, as are the production values. I thoroughly enjoy seeing out-of-print fiction get the collector's treatment. Thanks Jerad!
