This is the new thread for all things Gene O'Neill. Well at least all things he is doing with Bad Moon Books.
Gene has agreed to let us here at Bad Moon Books to publish a great many of his stories starting late this year and well into 2010. This is where you need to be for new updates on all the titles we are publishing for Gene.

Here are a few tidbits to get your juices flowing

Lost Tribe
Shadow of the Dark Angel
Deathflash

and yes we are re-visiting Cal Wild with a new novella titled
Doc Good's Traveling Show

and we will be reprinted The Burden of Indigo in a stand alone hardcover and we will be printing all the Cal Wild mythos in a 2 volume trade paperback series

Juices flowing yet? Well keep checking back on publication dates and pre-order information.

That's all great stuff Liz!
I haven't read a Gene story I haven't liked and there are couple that I haven't read and the rest I wouldn't mind rereading.

:D :v :D

Yeah we have a mix of new and remade titles. New ones are Lost Tribe, Deathflash and Doc Good's Traveling Show. Plus there are going to be some great bonus stories for the letter editions!
The first title we will be doing is Lost Tribe and it will be the second book in the new Eclipse line.

Hi, all. I thought I'd drop in and maybe give a thumbnail sketch of LOST TRIBE (it's possible that there will be a trailer available on this soon which is even better). LT is an expansion into novel length of my novella WHITE TRIBE. There's a monstrous earthquake, lots of anthropological myth, a nasty ass motorcycle gang, sex, drugs, rock and roll. What more could a reader ask?

Well if you think Gene is the mostest you are in good company because I do to! I just read the "bonus" story for Lost tribe and it is another great one. Don't want to give any of it away but sufice it to say it fits in well with the novel. We are getting our ducks in a row to make an annoucement on this one very soon.

Liz is referring to the bonus story for the lettered edition of LOST TRIBE.
"Ghost Town" takes place in the same area of LOST TRIBE. The northern California coast. Specifically near that part of the coastline called the Lost Coast. Hyw 1 veers inland, leaving 30 miles so remote there are no roads-- isolated, spooky, and scary.

John: I think Bad Moon Books will be announcing the pre-ordering of LOST TRIBE soon--few days. To be published in November. Might make a nice Xmas gift, if you have anyone on your list worth $50. Only a 100 print run. I like the artwork. The other books Liz mentions will apparently be coming out in a timely manner through 2009, early 2010. Apex Books is aiming for the short story collection middle or end of 2009. And as a kind of advance tease, I've been approached by a good specialty press recently about doing my new novel, NOT FADE AWAY (finish in about 5 weeks), and a short story collection. Nothing on paper yet so that is really tentative. Just means my name is at least in a few publisher's heads.
So it goes,
Gene

Thanks Gene. Sounds like some good things ahead. 2009...seems so far off, but is right around the corner. We'll be reading more O'Neill before we know it.

Update on Lost Tribe!! We have about under 20 copies left! Grab yours quick! Beautiful art by Zach McCain. For the letter buyers there is a bonus story titled Ghost Town! We are getting the signature sheets out for signing. This is the third title in our new Eclipse line, keep in mind this is a novel length title in our Eclipse line.

There is also going to be a Horror Mall chat with Gene on Nov 9th at 5pm PST. We will be doing a few drawings for a proof copy, number copy and a PC letter copy! So be there or be well... just be there ok!

Also as a side mention we are down to under 10 copies of Gene's wonderful title The Confessions of St. Zach! This looks to be a favorite for the 2008 Stoker ballot. Is this title the start of the Baja universe, well I guess we should ask Gene at the chat!

I thank all you folks who have bought a copy of THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH. As Liz says it's almost sold out (which makes Bad Moon Books happy with me, and receptive to doing more of my stuff--Hurrah!). I've had enough feedback from readers and writers suggesting that I expand COSZ into a full novel, or, at least, think about more novellas in the same background. I've thought a little about a neat way to connect this novella a little more tightly to the Cal Wild Mythos in a full novel. We'll see.

I also would like to thank those who have pre-ordered my novel LOST TRIBE. Today I saw the book laid out with artwork and some neat ideographic section headings, along with a line of pictographs that are important in the text. Beautiful. I think you will be pleased. If some of you think you might want to get a copy, but have questions, bring them to the chat on Horror-Mall on November 9th at 5:00 PM PST. Liz swears that even if I'm a computer klutz she can talk me through this. We'll see. (You could win an ARC, a PC limited, or a PC lettered).

Before the chat I should have the novel I'm working on completed and to my two first readers--NOT FADE AWAY (know the Buddy Holly song?--come to the chat and we'll sing it together).

Tis true what the man says! We have ONLY 10 copies left of Confessions of St. Zach. Plus all you fans of the Collected Tales of the Baja Express aka Cal Wild universe, you will be happy to know that Confessions is part of that universe. Cal it the pre-prequel to the universe. So if you are a HUGE fan of this universe (like me ;) ) and you haven't picked up your copy yet there is still time.

Now on to Lost Tribe!!! WOW!!! I just saw the typeset version of this bad boy (done by the ever talented Cesar Puch) and it is freakin' amazing! Also included is the AMAZING art from Zach McCain! This novel is going to knock your socks off! We have about a dozen copies left so make sure you get in on this one too!! This is our 3rd book in our Eclipse line and there are only 100 hardcover copies being done!

One more thing....I will see you all at the Horror Mall chat on November 9th at 5pm PST or else mwahahahaha :*
