At some point in the next 24-48 hours I'll have my new 30k word horror-crime novella CLOWN IN THE MOONLIGHT available on Kindle. Based in part on the true story of Ricky Kasso, the so-called Acid King, who murdered a friend in the Northport woods back in '84 claiming Satan told him to do it, then proceeded to bring high school classmates to view the mutilated body for days afterward. Occult, har...dboiled, and noir matters enter the mix as a nameless drifter teaches Ricky and friends what the true nature of hell is really all about. Extras include the first chapter of my new Bantam hardcover THE LAST KIND WORDS (due out June 5), the first chapter of my digital-only dark fantasy novel NIGHTJACK, and my short horror story "Shadder."

Over 7,000 downloads during our three-day FREE exclusive on Kindle. CLOWN peaked at #50 on the free bestseller list. All the buzz has helped to promote the book quite a bit. Nanci: the sale just ended a week ago. So far as I see, it helped with sales of my other books just a tiny nudge. But it's helped sales of CLOWN immensely. After the sale CLOWN continued to move at a tremendous rate. In the past few days over 100 copies have sold. Those numbers might not be much to some of the new gods of e-publishing, but for an old mule like me it's pretty good.
