Hey Tom, Can you recommend some hardboiled modern crime novels. Maybe written in the last 10 or 20 years. When I say hardboiled I mean down 'n dirty, killer inside me, type stuff. Feel free to let me know which of your books fit this bill. I have read your Cold Spot books (another one please) and Fuckin' Lie Down Already. |

Sorry. Usually when I come to Horror World I just hit the Cellar. Charlie Huston's got a trilogy out: CAUGHT STEALING, A DANGEROUS MAN, and SIX BAD THINGS. Almost anything by Ken Bruen, but especially ONCE WERE COPS and AMERICAN SKIN. Allan Guthrie's SAVAGE NIGHT. Ray Banks's Cal Innes series. Derek Raymond's Factory series, especially the fourth one entitled I WAS DORA SUAREZ. New book hitting in a couple of months by New Pulp Press by Nate Flexer called CORROSION. Just finished it, and it's hard hard Thompson-esque. Of my own stuff I'd suggest some of my noirellas including, EVERY SHALLOW CUT, YOU'D BETTER WATCH OUT, ALL YOU DESPISE, FRAYED, THRUST, and THE FEVER KILL. |

Thanks Tom! I have read some Huston and I love him. I have read a couple Bruen's including American Skin but I will look for the other one. The other ones, especially Corrosion, sound promising as well. Since I posted this I have alread downloaded 3-4 of your crime books for my Kindle. Thanks again. |
