ggcBelgian game makers Crazy Monkey Studios are muscling their way into the games racket with their hilarious award-winning take on the action side-scroller: Guns, Gore & Cannoli.

Inspired by classic 80’s side-scrolling shooters, the over-the-top action platformer takes a 1920’s Tommy gun turf war and throws in zombie low lifes and Italian pastries to make this an offer you really can’t refuse.

Guns, Gore & Cannoli beat the stuffing out of more than 100 other titles to win the award for Best PC Game at Casual Connect Amsterdam in February 2015, with the small indie team’s frenetic hoodlum caper impressing attendees and judges alike.

Putting you in the loafers of hardened mobster Vinnie Cannoli, the game sees you trawling through Thugtown and taking back your territory across hand drawn cityscapes inspired by prohibition-era New York.

With classic mobster dialogue, an armory of explosive weapons and a winning crew of good time gangsters, the game will leave you with a smile on your face as you shoot up hordes of living and undead mobsters, their molls and other colourful characters.

Don’t want to play alone? Well say hello to your little friends as Guns, Gore & Cannoli delivers a slice of multi-player action with up to 4 player local co-op.

Guns, Gore & Cannoli will be launching for PC and Mac via Steam on April 30th, with versions for PS4, Xbox One and Wii U to follow later in 2015.

Still don’t believe this game is one of the Goodfellas? Well stop being a wise guy and check out the new trailer for the pastry packing, zombie crushing sidescroller right here:
