Scarlett R. Algee is the editor for JournalStone/Trepidatio Publishing. She has also been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. This is one of her many tales of terror. And it is one hell of a tale of terror.
Prepare yourselves if you are sensitive to self-mutilation. Algee takes us on a bloody ride. Much like Stephen King, everything starts out okay. The day is normal in a normal neighborhood. We enter a normal shed. We go to clean the shed and discover lots of dust and inhale A LOT of it.
And this is where everything goes dark and ominous, and our poor main character goes from suffering a possible cornea scratch to a mild infection. I will leave the rest out so as not to spoil the oncoming events for you. This book is not for the squeamish.
If you are looking for an insane body horror book, look no further. Hold onto your eyeballs! This one will have you turning the pages fast. It might be because you are engrossed in the story or so horrified you just want to get to the end. Either way, this is a tale that will not be long forgotten.
